@RazielWarmonic Is the maps page going to be updated with new maps?

(Carniege) #6

I live here and no unfortunately. Well all the maps could definitely be because they don’t have a name attached to them like “Hyde Park” or whatever but Canary Wharf underground which is Underground doesn’t look like it does in real life.

@Dawnrazor those are literally just escalators you can find them anywhere in the world

Look at the glass ceiling where the attackers spawn m8.

(Carniege) #8

@Dawnrazor Im pretty sure that’s not Canary Wharf considering I’ve been there so many times. Again that escalator could be from anywhere

(Dawnlazy) #9

Are there other stations with that same type of glass ceiling on the entrance though? I mean I’m not from London so I wouldn’t know, but at least that part reminds me of the attacker spawn area in game.

(LifeupOmega) #10

The only thing I can say for sure that doesn’t exist in real life is Terminal’s terminal. It’s where a park / promenade is.

(BananaSlug) #11

hey but keep in mind that the in game london can be much different because of the cda, dirty bomb and just time

(BananaSlug) #12

i also heard that there is old dev studio in terminal ( when you are running straight from the attackers spawn and on top of the stairs there is an green building) and on third defenders spawn you can turn back and see big ben and place where should be london eye

(SteelMailbox) #13

That isn’t an old dev, that is restaurant named Bromley, Bromley being the district where SD HQ is at.

(Remedica) #14

Pretty sure this is what trainyard is made of:

Google maps links: https://www.google.fi/maps/@51.5413969,-0.1452057,3a,75y,299.68h,82.38t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1svBn2O9RLDNJjcLk5sbfg8A!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!6m1!1e1

(N8o) #15

I just gotta assume that London isn’t a radioactive wasteland like it is imagined in game…

(Remedica) #16

Where is Dome’s location btw? Since its not on the map?

(Faraleth) #17

Dome’s location is in Greenwich. It’s near the Millennium Dome. :3

And yes, Underground is set in Canary Wharf. Terminal is Waterloo, opposite Westminster. Trainyard is part of Camden lock. They are definitely comparable, but not exact copies with slightly futuristic reskins; a lot of assets have inspiration taken from real world locations, but the maps themselves are redesigned and reworked, in order to work as viable game maps, rather than resembling the real world locations.

I hope the link works properly…

(Carniege) #19

Yeah Dome is the O2 Arena it’s like 15 mins from where I live but I don’t remember that the Greenwich Millennium village looks anything like the Dome map

(RazielWarmonic) #20

Oh my goodness, these are really cool comparisons. I had no idea, I’ve never been across the pond (or out of the US for that matter).

Thanks for the pictures, this is awesome.

Yes, they will be. No ETA on it though.
