I happen to find this thread interesting, so does it now have a place on the front page?

Or do you prefer the metric tonne of QQ and hater threads?

Because the grumpy and nonhelpful replies are not going to encourage people who might like this game to post here, when all they get is people complaining they should have done xx instead.

All the “QQ” threads are also repeat threads… and if we were done with repeat threads we’d all be happier. Had you also looked for a DLC related thread, you’d have found the same information and therefore your interest would have been peaked with no loss to you.

Can you hop off your high horse for a little while? I know you your not stupid, I see your posts everywhere and they’re all constructive, but I don’t think it’s necessary for you to tell him his is useless. He asked a question, that’s a pretty big part of what a forum is in the first place. Hell I’ve posted useless threads that I’ve seen before,but I would like a first hand answer to my questions.
k I’m done venting, I guess I’m just grumpy, it’s getting late and my phone screen is burning my eyes…

The community is shrinking enough on its own, we don’t need people on the forums scaring people off aswell.

give the guy a break, unlike many of you…me…us?? he probably isnt on the forums 24/7 i think that if we treat the 1 star newbies all like trash we risk damaging the community little by little.

in short it isnt hurtful to be helpful

i know even some things arnt clear to some people that many can find with common sense it is a quality that is lacking now days

Who was treating who like trash? When have I ever treated anyone like trash? It’s a simple concept that many have used for quite a number of years… ‘searching’ for the answer. Suddenly having the capacity to find information is being on a high horse? The front page of this website has a news post handily named “Brink DLC Details and Stats Site Update”, and even more handy it links to a thread that has 180 replies on the subject, which, believe it or not, you can still add replies to and ask more questions.

If you can’t understand the premise, Kill5joy, then I’m afraid it’s me that should be questioning your mental status and not the other way round.

We’re not trying to treat anyone like trash just encouraging people to search for info that’s already available so that the threads that are open are actually relevant. Because we have to sift through this stuff every day. As do all of you.

What I ment by “get off your high horse” is that you don’t control the forums. Who are to say what should and shouldn’t be one here. I personally don’t give a **** how many stars someone has. And I wasn’t trying to insult your intelligence, if anything it was a compliment. Not a very good one, but regardless

People have stars because other people respect what they say. It’s a decent system that works.

All DA is saying is that if you can easily find information elsewhere then you shouldn’t clog the first page of threads with request threads for random information.

However if it’s a creative or obscure question. Or something that warrants discussion then feel free. This makes the forums easier to navigate and is in itself a courteous action. No one is trying to tell you how to live your life. We are only merely trying to convey to you things that would improve the forum and continue to bring more people to the forum. I know that I post here a lot because of the more seasoned mature posters who bring a lot to the table. And that because when I got here the regulars were a lot more thoughtful then the majority over at bethsoft I enjoyed myself even though the board wasn’t AS active.

But this forum isn’t as flooded with as much nonsense crap as bethsoft’s forums. And our moderators don’t have to lock a third of the threads started and redirect people to the original because they are too lazy to use the search feature. Because our regulars are happy to help. And it’s not because they are up on a high horse. Its because they don’t want SD forums to resemble anything like what bethsoft brink forums is.

Short story. If you want to use a forum as a search engine you should do it over at bethesda. You’ll get your thread locked and the moderator will give you a link to the appropriate thread.

Or you could use this site.
