Is Dirty Bomb pro Casuals or Pro Experienced/ Skilled players?

That’s only because mastering perfect aim is incredibly hard. That’s not DB specific, and it’s why pro FPS players are very good at all FPS’. DB-specific mercs and strategies are incredibly simple to learn and master. I’d put anyone with 50 hours of in-match gameplay along the lines of having mastered everything DB specific that there is to master. All that’s left after that is just… aiming.

If you find this game too easy, then there’s always UT4 pre-alpha to try out, right around the corner. With item/weapon pickups, creating the whole new meta of strategy and map control, plus advanced movement that you either master it properly, or get wiped on the floor by others.

sighs Arena shooter is the genre I want to like, but I can’t :frowning:

i feel you have no clue about not being a splashy wanky crapshow if you think trying to cater to noobs is “balancing”
At least he knows how to speak well, you should take lessons

But the other thing is, if catering to noobs means addressing complaints that seemingly everyone here has, which is certain things lacking counter play, like the mines or conc nades, then hell no game should ever be changed upon release. We should just release game whether they are finished or not and never change them.
Adressing complaints/bugs is not the same with catering to noobs so they can go shooty splashy and everyone wins. (because thats what im feeling with what you guys trying to say in the forum)

whats the point of playing if its easy? or the vets are just wankers that goes
“waah-waah muh feelings!” when theres something kills you easily and your skills cant adapt?

i agree with you that there are stuff that needs fixing or balancing. but making something weaker so “noobies feelings” wont be hurt is just blaphemy.

Yea but there’s your problem, you’re assuming people making these posts are noobs, just because they disagree with you. And yet, when you would make a post, I bet you’d get the same response.

Instead of dismissing what they’re saying as noob complaints, try understanding what caused them to post it in the first place. Understand their perspective, if you’re as smart as you think you are, you should be able to explain why they are wrong or why their ideas won’t jive with the game.
ive been lurking in the forum since october. i’ll be damned if i dont know jack sh*t on what people are saying and what caused them. nowadays, people are only talking on “how annoying playing against X is” it not like the people cant kill certain merc, it just people annoyed because its not “easy” to kill certain merc.

lets not make this game an overwatch where its core gameplay is rock paper and scissor.

50 hours is like level 19.

you can see how level 19 plays…

(they still play like a starters)

Oh no, I don’t want that either, but I also don’t want this game to be filled with a ton of mechanics with very little counter play. Like aim punch, as small as it is, mines you can’t get rid of easily, grenades you can’t avoid, Snipers you have to deal with, but don’t have many flanking routes or routes you can take to get around the angle they are patrolling. That’s just as every bit as nooby, stuff you basically can’t avoid with clever thinking or understanding of mechanics, it’s basically “I win” buttons.

I don’t want this game to be rock paper scissors class balance, but I also don’t want it to be a game where you have hard limits as to what you can actually practice to get good at or deal with, situations you can avoid or handle without having to rely on your team for EVERYTHING. And like it or not we DO have a sort of rock paper scissors going on, the best way to deal with campers? Nades, Concs, etc Best way to, HELL the only way deal with the EV, Fire Support, lack of ammo? Get a Fire Support. Need heals? Welp, you better hope your Medic is going to heal you or you have time to wait for that self regen.

This was my argument from before, the game has a lot of conflicting ideals and elements in it.

Well, I guess I’m sorry to bring this thread back up, especially since OP is banned now.

But what on earth do you mean by this statement: “The fact that head shots aren’t a 1 hit kill on all mercs is straight up bad and is one of few reasons why sniper is unplayable.” Do you mean all weapons? Or just snipers not one hit killing? Because if you’re complaining about the fact that headshots don’t instantly kill people… well, hochfir and the mk46 would become the best weapons immediately just because of accuracy and Rate of fire.

Also, though Dirty Bomb has casual aspects, I would NEVER call it a casual game. Even though you can “learn” how to play the merc. Many of the mercs have multiple playstyles, and people themselves have specific ways to play. Adapting to all of the strategies is actually rather hard, and though “aim conquers all” is definitely an aspect, DB is still not a casual game. Any person doing a few pickup games in a DBN server will realize people don’t take DB casually, or the person that complains about DB being casual is so pro that he needs a handicap or something.

N80 and Amerika are both people that I put in the top tiers OF Dirty Bomb, but I know for a fact that if they had more challenging opponents more regularly (hopefully when Matchmaking comes out) they would not be calling or seeing the game as Casual.
