Is BES safe?

(doxjq) #1

I have another friend with FPS problems caused by blackcipher, so they were going to try BES after so many people recommended it.

I still haven’t tried it, but I’m iffy about using any third party software that influences the anti cheat.

So is it 100% safe?

I doubt it, but I’m not a dev

If it gets too pissy it will just kick you off the game like a normal security violation, nothing major. Happened to me twice so far. I honestly can’t see a legitimate reason to disallow it either, unless they actually believe that BlackCipher really needs to hog 100% CPU power.

And given that there are other reports of the [url=https://forum.nexoneu.com/showthread.php?1509554-100-CPU-usage-of-Blackcipher]same crap happening in other Nexon games from over a year ago, I wouldn’t count on a fix from Nexon coming any time soon.

I am not so sure how messy it is now since SD is being bought by a Chinese chicken company.

the fact that the news is very old and they still did summer squash and the map rework i say its not quite messy

This is old news and there’s no need to worry about that. Companies bought by Sumpo are still doing very fine, if not better than before thanks to the additional founds.

If anything, it’s helping the game more than it’s supposedly harming it.

I ran B E S at -95% against BlackCipher.aes and I only got marginal gains. Not worthy really of considerable step towards fixing my fps problem but I still have a moderate amount of faith in using NGS. I had reason to believe that it wasn’t BlackCipher causing excessive DPC issues but I got reservations again.

@Eox… I suppose you meant harming rather than haming? o:)

well, how is getting free money for development is harming?

the other game that was bought by chicken company also doing well.

well except if they start to lay off people.

Not I worry about that chicken company will ruin the DB, in fact I was wondering what exactly really happened after SD being bought by That Chinese Company, since I don’t really see a significant change of the way of how SD handle Dirty Bomb.

Ive been using it for about 3 days now Dox. I have not been kicked or anything else. It has definitely helped my issues. I kept it at the default 33% to test it (just throttle it a little, not try to circumvent Black Cipher) and it does work. I have a terrible computer (I play on a 2012 Macbook pro running Windows 10) and it keeps me between 40 and 65 fps with bes. If I just stand still and look at the wall, I can hit 120 fps!

Edit: I also have a 12 year steam account with 0 Vac bans so if they ban me for this, Ill raise a stink about it!

Oh yeah forgot to add, but to whoever gets BES, set the % according to your CPU power. Basically BlackCipher adds CPU pressure on top of an already very CPU-dependant game, but if you limit it too much it might kick you. 80-90% works for something like the i5’s and i7’s with the highest performances, my i5 4690 seems to do OK with about 85%. Also make sure to start BES right after you boot the game, I once forgot to then just alt-tabbed midgame to set it up, results were not good, game ran like the usual choppy stuttery ride as it was before, and after a couple of matches I got kicked.
