Is aura in need of balance? this is what I feel.

I feel like Aura seems pretty out of place.

She has really good weapons, healing stations make you close to immortal in gun fight or you have to focus the station down which usually still should end up being your death.

Her shotgun is quite good (like every shotgun currently though) even with wider spread one or two shotting isn’t a dream.

My first suggestion for balancing Aura.

Make her healing station start regenerating health with 1 second delay. Start the healing at max regenerate rate but for example 50% of it and slowly work it up. This means you can’t use it so offensively, without actually risking a death. (You could also make a setup time but I think it would not fit the game)

Balance out her weapons, so that aura herself can’t deal that much damage solo and taking down the healing station even with Aura around would be such a risk

Just tune down the regen numbers of healing station and maybe reduce the shotgun damage in general

on top of everything she’s nearly as fast as proxy

I think if anything, give her the best health regen if she doesn’t already, and make it so her healing station doesn’t do anything for her.

I still think aura buff’s people around her too much though. My second suggestion isn’t that good now that I think about it, the problem is still the Healing Station :expressionless:

The continuous regeneration is the issue here, so perhaps make it so the Healing Station heals in set amounts at preset intervals.

Its been repeatedly mention in multiple threads to maybe swap the constant healing to a pulse, no clue as to why it hasn’t been dome yet, but Fraggers grenades get a slight damage nerf, its like the station is an instant win button, just drop the thing and jump around in circles, if you do get shot, don’t worry, you instantly heal that in less than a second. I normally don’t call things op just because they kill me a lot but when someone as incompetent as I can sit in front of a doorway Mexican hat dancing around a healing station, with the only threat being another Aura but due to me already being healed by my station can hurt her more before she can drop hers until we both run out of bullets and knife fight inside our stations field and someone comes and grenades one… You have a problem…

…Aura healing station knife party fights need to be a thing now…

Yeah the healing station is powerful but I dont think a pulse is the right way to go. I mean the station works as fallback point, a defensive front of sorts, I dont think you should be able to charge that straight ahead.

A pulse would be strange because it would decrease the potency of the ability and make it alot harder to maintain a defensive position (wich i guess is what you want to achieve).

In my opinion, the problem is not that the healing of the ability is too powerful. I think that when you are taking on an aura you should be focused on destroying the healing station and be aware that you cant just charge her straight on.

However what i do consider a problem is that the cooldown of the ability starts when the station has been placed. This means that i can instantly set down a new one when my previous is broken if enough time has passed.

I’d like to see her cooldown start once the station breaks wich means that you would have to pick up your previous one if you wanted to move positions.

Ofcourse this would require some sort of self destruct mechanic to force a new cooldown if you are unable to get to your station if it is still up and you want to place a new one (maby just press the action button again to destroy it).

Another alternative to achieve what im suggesting would simply be to increase the cooldown of the ability.
