“Newsflash: You’re dead. And now back to some music.”

-Eyevy

She owned a little Anti-Goverment pirate Radio so she could inform the people what’s wrong in their country. But when the Dirty Bomb-incident happened she took the opportunity to live in a demilitarized zone. One day, on one of her savaging hunts she stumbled upon a group of mercenaries who happened to listen to her radio during their missions. Due to her radioing skills and knowledge about semi auto rifles they offered her to come with them to keep an eye out over the area they operated.
Let’s just say she saved their asses and got payed a ton of money. And that’s how she became a mercenary.

I changed her a bit. Maybe you like her more this way?

Stats
90 HP
450 Speed
Recon Class

Weapons:
Semi Auto Rifles

Primary:
Dreiss-AR
PDP-70
and that Red Eye Rifle

Secondary:
Empire-9
MP-400
DE .50

Abilities:

E:
She spots every enemy in her line of sight for about 8 seconds instantly.
Her lines depend on how many enemies she spotted. Since She was a radio host she should have a lot of voice lines. Here are some ideas of what she could say. I imagine a lot of snappy comments with many game internal, pop culture or other references:
1: “Got a lone wolf over here”
2: “Oh look at that cute couple”
3: “Oh baby a tripple!”
4: Party starts he-… over there"
5+: “Guys, I feel like a raid boss right now”
Cooldown: 10s

Q:
She marks a team member for 10-20 seconds. Marked player will look like an ally to the enemy team.
The logic behind that is that she fools the operator of the enemy team in thinking that they just got another merc as support for this mission.
“HQ? Ground Squad 5 here. Ehm, we just just received the reinforcement you sent us? Thanks for the fire support. See you back in base!”
This causes confusion in HQ but for a short period of time and that is enough to cause even more confusion in the team itself until HQ radios back that that’s not the case.
Possible counter plays: Agressive stationary stuff like mines and turrets could still react to the marked player as the friend/foe programming was already set up for the mission. I’m not sure about heal stations. Could be a little overpowered if the marked player could use it, but it could be a fun twist on the other hand.
Cooldown: 35s

Maybe I will update the Concept art to make her look a little more suited to a battle. Just take the picture to be before her mercenary time.

What do you guys think?
Different weapons? A second ability? Ability too OP/UP? Not good at all?
Let me know.

I dunno…the spyglass seems a little bit underpowered compared to the heartbeat sensor, as it needs line of sight to the target and takes you away from the fight a lot longer than simply throwing something.

(Grave_Knight) #3

Especially if you consider RedEye can do the exact same thing while fighting.

(Impeccable Lemon) #4

The art is nice, but a character who runs a pirate radio just using a spyglass? Odd mix of themes. If she used something to, say, hijack the enemy’s minimap and disrupt it, she’d fill a fairly clear role.

(Grave_Knight) #5

A jammer would be a cool power. Have it do the Hawken thing where it creates false positives. Another cool idea would the ability to hijack turrets, heal stations, ammo stations, etc. via a hacking device using wifi. Probably put her squarely in the Engineer category.

EDIT: By the ways, from an art perspective. I suggest that you change her hair color to something darker. I am assuming she’s suppose to be a white passing black women (if not, uh…caucasian hair doesn’t do that).

(Mr-Penguin) #6

Maybe hacking these deployables would instead turn it into a heartbeat sensor by function for a few seconds, thus marking any enemies nearby. Then that would make her a Recon merc.

Also, new name idea: Wiretap.

(Impeccable Lemon) #7

Another cute little detail is that if she were to deploy a jammer of sorts, instead of hearing the announcer say things like ‘They’ve planted the bomb’, or 'They defused our c4!", the enemy team would hear a radio station instead while within range.

(Grave_Knight) #8

Only if it Rickrolls them.

Thanks for the feedback, guys.

The Idea behind that is that she sees someone and radios the precise location to the rest of the team.
“Hey team, it’s me Eyevy. Remember to rusty barrel near the little store on the side of the street? I saw one of those F*ckers hiding behind it.”
And don’t you see it? She uses one of this telescopic spyglasses like a pirate and radios everything she spots
And about that map thing. Sounds good in theory, but I personally don’t look at the map that often. Half the time I wouldn’t even notice she used her ability.

Do you think so? I thought the heartbeat sensor was kinda useless because it gets hot es soon as it hits the ground. With her ability the people who are spotted stay spotted until it runs out. And the enigma perk would finally be of some use.
How about that she doesn’t need the glass and can spot people in her line of sight and the press of a button. Maybe the spyglasses could still be used (for a better zoom) but aren’t necessary for her ability.

I saw a white girl with white dreads once
If you couldn’t recognize the hair as dreadlocks: Sorry, first time I drew this kind of hair.

Well in my personal oppinion…

The primary weapons are fine, with exception of PDP-70 since its kinda bad (still waiting for a buff) but other than that the primary weapons choise is ok.

As a recon she could use machine pistols, (the tolem and others, but you cound come up with other possible future variants.)

Stats are OK.

Ability is… meh… While it could be used for mass spotting all the time it would feel realy boring ability. And since she is specialized in use of radios it seems real odd.

I would suggest 2 differend abilities.

1: Jammer: Deploable device that blocks all artilery, airsrikes and orbital strikes from activating, so exaple skyhammers are trowing bunch of markers to objective, place one of these down and none of the airsrikes will happen (the markers will explode still) (it kinda works like a invisible ceiling, so enemy ablities wont happen but also wont go to cooldown)
50s cooldown.

2: Radio Spotter: deploable that emits sound to Eyevy to know that enemies are close, The closer enemies are to spotter the bigger noise the spotter will emit. Also when enemies are iun certain radius, the spotter will also mark them, so long as they are in range.

Spotter will also emit sound that other players can hear, its just not as lound, but this is one way to spot the spotter. 30s cooldown

(debonairRogue) #11

I like the idea, but her abilities don’t seem useful. I like the ideas mentioned above. also omegas radio spotter idea would be a good counter to phantom

(Reddeadcap) #12

How about an audio ping, marking enemies near her at a larger and more constant range than a heart beat sensor, maybe even have them visible as red silhouettes of the character than just the diamond?

The I don’t look at my mini map enough for the jammer though, maybe it makes it so ads doesn’t work?

(Ferrett321) #14

This is so much like Lucio from Overwatch, except this forum was made before Lucio was ever heard of.

(Thai-San) #15

Thanks for the feedback guys. Already forgot about her ^^ but I came back and gave her some thought. What do you think?

(SpinnerzNQ) #16

first time I read the name I thought she was a medic. y’know, cuz of the “IVs”

(Naonna) #17

@debonairRogue stifled laughter … you need a counter to phantom? (Every other recon + proxy… or ears.)

As for this specific merc, love the character design, but the abilities listed seem to already be taken or lack a place. In organized teams, the second listed ability would be a bit useless. The primary ability is taken by red eye already. (He’s somewhat underplayed as it is.)

(bestVillage) #18

I think she needs to like see trough walls, or make the enemy lose the ability of using auto-fire mode, maybe give her an ability to deploy a hologram of herself, or an ECM device that turns off enemy deployables and air support devices, maybe an ability to finish off people, of course I mean not downed ones, but thoose who are under 100 hp.

(bestVillage) #19

Maybe something like the hyper-reality visor from Blacklight?
