While I may never understand the appeal of mumble, good to see this group being introduced.
On a side note, does this mean that the Dirty Cups edit on Oen’s announcement you posted is irrelevant now? Is Dirty Cups actually down for the count and being outright replaced? Or will it continue under modified management by the remaining admins?
Having a future plan about organizing Nations Cup made me super interested.
It would be amazing to see Nations Cup in Dirty Bomb as well. <3

Oen/Raz and I had some lengthy conversations last weekend, and they’ve assured me that they will be bringing DirtyCups back in the somewhat near future. The management changes will be minimal as I believe I’m the only one leaving the team. We wish them the best of luck in the future, and the more competitive DB communities, the better!
We will be trying to get the normal pugs online soon, so feel free to start hanging out on the mumble! I’ll be working with some folks on creating a more official draft system within in the next week or so.
What to expect from the draft system?
-Discrete ELO ratings to ensure balance
-Cascading skill per teams, ie from Pro to Newbie and everything in between. Expect to be captained by some of the most experienced DB players, learn a lot, and improve on your game!
-Mentorship and fun focus
-Active admins
-Draft Cups

not really because if you want to run your own server on your dedicated server you still need to pay for user slots atleast the last time i checked
and with teamspeak its all free up to 512 users
So Dbnation was created to show how better you are regarding dirtycups? Why you don’t ask ESL to build admin team to build some cups and maybe Go4DB in near future?
Is there any plans for a dirty bomb league, I love cups but it can be tricky to get a whole squad of people free for pro longed periods of time.
If there’s a league starting up which will allow you to play one match a week that would be ace!
This is probably the 3rd or 4th request I’ve heard for a TS server. We chose Mumble because it’s what we used in the past and seemed like what most players wanted, but I have no problem bringing up a TS server if people would rather use that (cost was never an issue). The only thing I want to avoid is having two separate VOIP servers.
DBNation was created because DirtyCups was shutting its doors (which is now looking like just a hiatus). Also, we have a different approach and different goals with DBN.

We’d definitely like to do ladders/leagues, but we want to do them right with proper software to support them. Once we have a few cups under our belt we’ll probably take a harder look at this.
