I believe that the intermission time between games needs to be reduced. I bring this up as an issue because I notice that many people leave because they think they are staring at end-stats and have to leave to get into another game. Not a big issue, but I believe it can easily be addressed by the devs. What do you guys think?
Intermission time TOO LONG
I think the font should be changed. IO don’t like the font. It should be bigger. What do you guys think? Should the font be bigger? I would have made the font bigger. What we these guys thinking when they used the font they did. Maybe they should make a whole other Brink and use a bigger font.

Really? Somehow I doubt that many people think that. I’ve never played an FPS that worked that way (having to join a new server after one map ended).
The end of the map is a natural stopping point for someone who is finished gaming, that’s why people leave.
Well the map ends then you have a end short video, then the intermession time then a new map begins starts a loading screen that you have to press a key to continue then a video thay you have to press with your mouse in the skip icon its a bit wtf, I just want to play not to watch same videos 24/7 and wait 1 minute.

Also some folks might like a bit of time to view the scoreboard etc before leaving (I know I do). Shorten the intermission and you might find more people leaving during the game instead between maps - not that this would necessarily be a problem if everyone’s happy with people leaving mid-game.
Matches can last 30min+ easy, the intermission is fine, if anything I and almost everyone I play with wishes it could be extended if everyone agrees through a vote. You all act like people shouldnt be able to use the bathroom or get a drink etc… between matches, already enough people standing around at the start of games cause they were doing things between matches and often catch people taking mid match breaks. If you are complaining then you obviously dont play for extended periods or just play a few games at a time and then leave.
I understand that reality takes center stage and intermission is useful, however if you’re going to leave for 5-10 minutes, just leave the game and if you want to join a new one when you get back to playing.
If on PC then the intermission time is already adjustable, and can be set by the server owner/owners.
If on console then I would agree that SD should at least give the console users the ability to set the time length of the intermission.
Don’t change the default value, only allow console host to set the intermission time manually pre match.
For the servers that lower the time I like those so cant complain.
I think all servers should allow the person to change class during warmup.
Anyway IF text chat is brought in then I see no reason to lower it (unless the server admin wants).
If text chat wont be brought in then ya I think most intermissions are too long.
Nah. It gives you time to check the Awards, Points who was on the other team, vote on next map, discuss what map the team wants to do next, send out invites, and chat about the game/life. It reminds me of the Gears of War 1 lobby system in-between matches. only better: you get to vote between ALL the maps, not just predetermined maps.
At present i think its JUST long enough…For me to exit server, change body type/character and rejoin my friends.
Any shorter would mean the games almost over before i get back in the room.
Bingo. On a dedicated server we run, we’ve already experimented with a lower time between maps and whilst it sounded like “a good idea at the time”, after a while we found it was insufficient/inconvenient and had to bump the time back up again.
Leave the default where it is and let people (as they already do - on PC at least) customise from there. If this is mainly a console issue, then again - leave the default where it is and provide a customisable option for consoles.
They don’t need to change the time but rather the messaging to make it obvious that a new map will be begin. For me, it always felt like an end of game screen and I’d always back out even when I knew it wasn’t. Same happened with the challenges. I’d back out until I learned that a “play again” button appeared after a few seconds. I’m not sure why they didn’t just show it off the bat.
Give you end of game/intermission chat and it won’t feel so long to you.
During the intermission you should be able to chat, change appearance, and use skillpoints you gained.

like the countdown timer already in place? Upper right corner.
I say leave it how ever long it needs to be for things internally to load and sort themselves out.
TBTH.
i think the end screen could use some more love.
its just a basic statistic in a list. gosh.
could there be at least be icons for each class and a more optimized view of the stats that uses the whole screen?
personal stats would also be nice. no. of revives, mines planted, obj. hacked, accuracy, dmg done, dmg received, that sort of stuff.
the endscreen is so basic and mediocre it hurts. probably thats the reason why people leave. becuase they dont wanna look at it.
I like this idea. It was fun to scroll through all your little pin achievement things in BC2 post-match. All I can tell from the Brink post-match scoreboard is “oh, I did/didn’t do well as ____ class” and “oh, I killed/didn’t kill a lot”.
Intermission is fine IMO. Nice change from a loading screen, after all.
What they need to do is put a chat window in the summary screen (along with the scoreboard, awards and so on, add a chat tab).
Otherwise, no complains here…
