http://pc.ign.com/articles/103/1036296p1.html 60k in sigs from some other community / people

( interview with some known community modders and community people ) 1 hour 41 minute mark 402 from IW start’s talking. I’m trying to get alot of people from the “private section / forums” in call of duty 4 over this way… Im pointing them in this direction for the future of gaming. I hope this is not the future.

Yeah, Blizzard will do the same thing with Starcraft. This trend really gets me worried. I think they’re warming up the gaming environment for more advertising.

i loled at the 120k. i rather think that there aren’t even 120k gamers who know what “dedicated server” means.

the step of iw is the future: why give people the possibility to mod & map so that they can put out stuff for free, when at the same time iw can force everyone to pay for maps & mods with micro/macropayments?

even if 25% cancel their preorders, from the 2m they have on console alone (guess the pc number) they make more money by selling additional maps than those preorders would be worth

I hope this is good news in disguise. That it lets a lot of “but but but I have to buy it” gamers see exactly the sort of dev/publisher they’re supporting and they move onto something that isn’t an afterthought or viable cash in.

To think, the $60 PC price was sort of logical if you got the DLC for free. Now it seems they’re just using the money to cover Valve’s cut for using Steam. Screw them and CoD, Michael Bay-esque POS that it is.

Come on L4D2 and Brink!
