interested in making maps TDM compatibile ?

Hi all mappers, since I am noob in mapping and i have never made any complete map , I am requesting one simple thing :
Can you please add deathmatch spawnpoints to your new maps , ( these things used as spectator spawns ) , basicly they are used just for spawning in all map , so can you do it?
There shouldnt be any problems with having more of them…
This is becasue FalckonET mod is supporting this way of team deathmatch , and lot of modders can use this too…
It isnt much work , i already did it for goldrush , since it has free .map file…

I’m not planning on adding them to my maps. I think that a balanced TDM map is quite different from a balanced SW or Campaign map. Given that, I don’t plan on spending any time to modify/test/tweak my maps for a game mode that I don’t expect to see a whole lot of on my maps.

Hmm , it is all about because ETPro team keeps their “create” source secret , and i have no idea where to begin with that , and placing some spawns is easy , I am just posting that if you can bother with them , cos it can be usefull
Of course some maps dont fit TDM…

Placing spawns is easy, but it’s somewhat of a silly exercise unless you actually test them in a TDM environment, otherwise you might as well just play LMS or limited lives.

However, if you want people to add deathmatch spawn points, you may want to give out some guidance where they should go? Randomly all over the place? You going to automatically run an LMS script to get rid of objectives, open doors/passages etc?

of course it is hell simple juust all over the map , you can just copy lms script and rename it to _tdm…
However FalckonET maybe is ready for this , but no linux version is done…
I am just asking because some maps can be cool for TDM…
Also have in mind that FalckonET is somewhat diffirent , so maybe i will release guide how to add TDM gametype to ET …

If you are interested in adding entities from a seperate file, then take a look at the source code from D!ablos entity editor: http://www.shadowflare.com/files.html Editor RC05 SRC. It’s for Q3 but might give you some ideas anyway.

i would do it for sure. just give me example on a tdm map. my questions are what has to be in the pk3. does a tdm need a script? what kind of? i would make tdm version of my industry2 map coming up soon (if the gnat ever makes me the command map).

/////////////////// btw i think your mod with tdm is a great idea for et. the movement and is just perfekt for tdm. you should make some changes for the classes in tdm else everyone will play medic and hang out at the ammo cabinet. :blah:
