Surprised some say they have never heard of this. This feature is starting to become more popular in games, as it can be seen even on an Xbox in Black Ops 2, Planetside 2 as mentioned above, and more games are starting to announce it as well.

Built in Twitch would be cool, but I would want more dedicated casting(advanced spectator?) features:

[li]Graphs and charts of data like overall damage in the round and which players doing the most (see DOTA2)

[li]Being able to draw on the screen with a “marker” - think of ESPN highlights where you can draw on screen

[li]Quick/Easy/Simple score screen that can be not obtrusive when pulled up and not cover the entire screen.

that draw on the screen option is in NS2 atm, i enjoyed drawing dicks for my viewers

We’re very much aware of the need for both good spectator controls and support for things like Twitch integration. We’ve already done some investigation of the Twitch API and have various ideas for spectator tools, but these are lower priority on our road map so prototyping and further investigation wont happen for a while.

Hopefully the streaming performance will be above average as I’m looking forward to help promoting it after NDA. I’ve only streamed a few times before, but I found that DXtory was one of the least performance intruding capture softwares available. As long as the overall performance of the game actually improves significantly by release first of all :wink:

Twitch’s API is quite limited from what I understand of it, whilst it makes it easier to stream you generally won’t get the same sort of quality Xsplit, DXtory and OBS will give you (unless it’s a very well optimized low spec game) because of the way it decides to use your bandwidth and CPU (i.e. cautiously :))

Yup, Xsplit and OBS are pretty beastly in that regard, manually tweak to dump encoding onto the CPU more and more depending on your build.

I prefer to run Xsplit out side of game with the tCP command line to uncap the upload etc for Xpslit and JTV/Twitch - and stream that way - allows way more customization and the good ole 720+ or 1080+ etc. Blops 2 is an example of youtube and twitch.tv being added into the fold and being able to stream in game, except its barebones quality. (less than that) blurry mess.

If you are as good as Hogins then thats nothing to be too proud of from what the consensus of people are telling me after my duel-set that just ended. But if you insist on proclaiming to be as good as hog then more power to you. Also, Why is it such a freak-out “OMFG PANCAKE WAFFLEHOUSE FLAPJACKS WITH MAPLE SYRUP” bull**** everytime people run into me with the Nvidia Sponsorship thing.

Woot for me, I get to wear a ****in’ jersey when I game that has Nvidia on it, I get some free stuff. Aside from that I’m just like you - someone who digs games and plays games. Simple as that. I am not a huge prime time gamer; I was bigger in the early 2000’s and what matters to me / what makes me smile (honestly) is when guys and gals from these games run into me in another game and say kind words / how I did this and that / if I remembered playing with so and so etc
I’ve been to multiple quakecons I’ve never placed in the top 3.
I’ve been to near a 100 LAN / Tournaments The Highest I’ve placed is #2 multiple times, and I won #1 spot in MAX PAYNE 3 PC and UT3 PC (yeah I figured those would laugh at that - I spend a few hundred hours mastering max payne 3’s unique third person gameplay in MP modes) I’ve had close shots; but I always finished middle of the group or right outside the top then, I’ve had numerous right inside the top tens but I am “That Guy” that people know but he’s never done anything to really blow anyones minds in the community - starting in 2000, its 13 years later - I don’t think I am going to blow anyones mind in any game in the future - possibility at Doom 4 if the MP is integrated right or Quake 5 / a new UT Game - I believe I’ll become a strong Dbomb player - now-a-days in games it seems I have “Strong Elements” like in BF3 I am a Quick-Scope machine and accurate / consistant with it - but Suck with SMG/LMG and I am B+ at best with Assault - Games now take too many pathways in my opinion while Quake 3 for example everyone had a chance to get the same guns, each had a purpose that was balanced, it was up to you to count the timers on Quad/Megahealth/Regen etc or on the Yellow, Green and Red Armors, Health Orbs (esp 50’s or green +5ers, and armour shards) along with Ammo scavanging and getting each weapon to turn yourself into a Rocket Arena/Clan Arena player during a duel -laughs-

No games are going to be like that anymore, I tried NEXUIZ due to the “Twitch Shooter spiritual successor to the Quake and Unreal Tournament games!” I dug it but… it feels like Quake or UT on Crack made for the ADD adderall xbox age group generation - its gorgeous as hell on PC with the cryengine all using max details but its “Too Fast” and the constantly changing mutators dissalow any type of map control or aim for that matter (nothing like having the Lightning shock type gun right on someones face to have the constantly revolving mutater switch to third person mode with inverted mouse control and swapped W A S D keys; yeah let me figure that out. Thats fun. -sarcasm-

Basically; I’m a ****ing gamer, and I like to let everyone know my sponsorship, not to gloat, not to seem better as most people will beat me in games; I just happened to be in the right place a the right time when everything happened in my humble opinion - but I like having it everywhere in my gaming as a reminder to myself that I have a standard that I am playing for each time I play. It strives me to be better and better; endless trolls will make hate threads or comments - I am not looking for that, what I am looking for is someone to challenge me kindly to a game - because just as my sponsorship is a sign that I keep knowing I will give the game my all and try to become better everytime I play and feel good about it; to the person that challenges me when they say… duel me and lose by 1 kill - they can say they lost to Wind.Nvidia 3D by 1 kill and it doesn’t make them feel humiliated or ****ty. If they win the duel (aslong as they have manners and understand what I mean in this post…) then they feel good themselves. They beat that sponsored guy! Hell. Maybe they should go to one of the ever changing locations of say MLG OPEN INVITE for the game they think they are best at and see how they perform and see if anyone picks them up. I’ve met 3 people over the past 5 years that started some sort of BS rivarly thing, but ended up being cool guys and after we played despite it being a win or loss or DRAW TO SUDDEN DEATH (depending on the game / game genre) I told them what I am telling you and they (seperate at different times) ended up going to say MLG, QuakeCon, Small lans medium lans big lans and usually invite only lans finding a team that needs a ringer due to a rare whatever (it happens) and boom they ended up impressing the peer players, the audience and obviously some companies and landed some sponsorships. Take my words as words of wisdon, I’m only trying to help you and anyone else out.

But if that is NOT your dream; then don’t chase it because so much PR BS is envolved, contractual BS - I’ve breached my contracts over a dozen times and once had to pay money as I read thru the contracts but insane little things that need to involve all sponsors most of the time even on my own Blogs / Podcasts / Streams not only in Actual competition! that stuff is nuts. Thats the only part I wish was different :). I went to Orlando Florida to game and ended up I spent 3 days going around to people playing the games I thought I was registered for to talk to them about Nvidia 3D vision.
Yeah. Must be AMAZING.

why would you want twitch integrated when there are tools that can do it for you, eg Origin can do it and Valve will be probably working on something similar with Steam. Then you could just add DB to game list and stream like that ( would be awesome if that were to happen :tongue: )
