Instantly change team ?

(Yatta) #1

Is there a way to instantly change team when debugging a map (without dying and waiting for the next respawn) ?
Thanks in advance.

use etpub, set g_mode to 1 (insta-spawn).

Thanks, but i guess this will insta-spawn at the spawn point, not just keep the player in position and change its team ?

I guess ill try something with multiple instances of ET running on a server …

You could set the respawntimes for both teams very low (like 1 sec.).
After changing team in limbo just selfkill and you will respawn in the new team after 1 sec.

I think he wants to change the team without respawning. He wants to change the class by just standing somewhere and clicking on the other team’s flag.
Thankfully it isn’t possible in ET! (today…)

/team r
/map_restart
/team b
/map_restart

?

No that wont work. I need a cheat-like command to magically switch my uniform without having to respawn, as KeMoN said.

Basically i have a few systems like “axis pull a lever, then allies can ‘counter-pull’ that lever during the next 2 seconds”, so if i spawn away i dont have time to reach the lever, even with 1 second respawn time.

I the end, I just run two instances of the game, connecting in a multiplayer game, and alt-tab from one to the other, works fine. : )

lol, just move the stuff you need all into 1 space, ok make the wait time longer, if it works like that then it will with shorter time too

Or you create a local host and you connect with another installation.
One installation allied the other axis so you can easily test your stuff

stealth6 > Theres always this kind of solution, but the point of the question was to see if there was a quick debug way to do that without messing with the map and script.

KeMoN > Thats exactly what I said i was doing in my last message ; )

Oh
Sorry my bad.
Stopped reading after the second paragraph :frowning:
