''INI file requires updating, but could not be updated...''

(peridotTruck) #1

I just downloaded Dirty Bomb on Steam. When I try to run the game, I get an error saying:

'Message

Generated INI file ‘…\ShooterGame\Config\ShooterUI.ini’
requires updating, but could not be updated. Please ensure the
file is writeable.’

What do I do? :persevere:

Edit: Now I also get a message saying the same thing, exept the …\ShooterGame\Config\ShooterUI.ini is …\ShooterGame\Config\ShooterTesting.ini

Hello.

Please navigate to the following folder.

Documents > My Games > UnrealEngine3 > ShooterGame > Config

Now open the properties of the files which need updating and uncheck read-only.
Save them and you should be fine.

Thanks for the answer. I can’t find the Config in the ShooterGame folder though. There’s just a folder in there called WebCache.

Verify your game files.

Right click Dirty Bomb in your Steam library.
Open the properties and navigate to local files.
There you find the button to do so.

Also having this problem… navigated to that location and found nothing. I’ve been searching my computer all over the place and haven’t found anything.

It should be located at :\Users<UserName>\Documents\My Games\UnrealEngine3\ShooterGame\Config

So I have the same problem, or similiar. Getting error messages for all 5 (or so) ini files that should be there, and when i navigate to the specified path, there arent any ini-files in that folder… Any body got an idea?
