Hi,

we´ve analyzed the actual ingame HUD from the latest build of Brink. Check it out -> http://www.ark-island.de/content.php?id=31

For all non german readers we´ve translated the whole description part in english. Feel free to post your opinions

The first bar shows your normal amount of life, which regenerates itself after a
while. The small bars behind the first, is additional life, granted by a medic
buff. They do not regenerate and can only be replenished by a medic.

The blue arrow points toward your current mission target.

you were shot.

Nicely done, this is the first HUD breakdown I have seen.

The health bar bonus bars can also come from captured terminals I believe, it was mentioned in a few previews.

(Maca) #3

The SMART mode icon also tells if you’re crouching or climbing or vaulting etc.

Awesome work Fireseed! It’s cluttered, but hope it grows on me.

(trigg3r) #5

Nice job fireseed!! very helpfull

(BioSnark) #6

crosshair (orange/blue) ring also indicates if smart system will attempt to maneuver above or below obstacles.

(DouglasDanger) #7

That is a lot of info. From a design perspective, it looks cool and very readable, but it is sort of overwhelming.

I wonder if it is customizable.

(Herandar) #8

This image is showing all (or almost all) of the HD elements we’ve seen so far. The elements that are not relevant or active fade away, so it isn’t this cluttered most of the time.

(Maca) #9

The HUD that is explained in Brink Compendium is supposedly from PAX 2010, it is esthetically different compared to this. Which is more current?

(BioSnark) #10

pax 2010

10chars

(beute) #11

I hope it’s customizable to the point where we can remove some unneeded info…

It’s sad that the best looking version of the game was the first container city footage that had only minimalistic HUD.
Especially the borders around people you’re targeting/buffing/healing/restocking are fugly.

(BioSnark) #12

I hope the elements are fairly small on PC.

(abrain) #13

That one is an old build from E3 the one from horse Brink Compendium is the latest one from pax.

(Slade05) #14

This stance icon is a DIRECT throwback to Raven Shield times, which is ****ING AWESOME.

It’s also sad how you state this like it’s a fact.

(Fireseed) #16

Yeah it seems we have made an epic fail… SORRY!
That´s thing with too much motivation vs. too less brain.

can´t believe it + shame on me + damn it

(Humate) #17

lol its all good fireseed… good effort imo!

(MrX) #18

I prefer the minimalistic one but grats for your effort .Many elements on hud still remain the same :>
