If you would like to safely test this bug and have fun with it yourself. Go to your console (Default ~) and type
“switchlevel obj_canarywharf” or “switchlevel obj_whitechapel” without the quotes, to enter an offline map. I would not suggest using this in live games.
Infinite Jump Height Bug
Previous thread with links to other reddit threads and video here. Ninjadeer didn’t find this, reddit user MrHerpDerp AKA me, found it. Unless ninjadeer has been sitting on this info for more than a day.
I was told he was the one that found it. Ardez after the video mentioned it to me that it was a possibility someone else found it. I’ll add an annotation to the video correcting myself.
Sorry for the mix-up.
-edit- do you have a preferred alias?
These are two different exploits.
The first exploit allows you to gain extra jump height by mashing crouch while jumping. MrHerpDerp found this glitch to my knowledge.
The second exploit is derived from the first exploit. If you are mashing crouch while wall-jumping and mash jump on the wall, it is possible to rest the wall-jumps you are allowed on the wall. This allows you to get infinite vertical height as illustrated here: http://imgur.com/a/2xE71. The crouch jump exploit by itself probably does not allow you to get infinite jump height even with the use of macros.
I found the second exploit after looking at MrHerpDerp’s reddit post and testing it out myself. To my knowledge I was the first person to find it.
The good news is I don’t think the wall-jumping exploit is reproducible without the crouch-jumping exploit, so if the crouch jumping one is patched this one will become a non-issue.
This is a known bug in a couple of other threads. Merging this thread to prevent duplication.
I figured out how to get out of every map (inclucing underground) by doing a Crouch jump glitch.
Here is video proof.
I hope this is patched soon!
It was and still is a problem.
You can do it by having a bind that spams jump and crouch hundreds of times per second and push against a wall.
Please fix.
