[ INDEV ]Dirty Bomb HUD Maker (InDev 1.0)

(Xyfurion) #1

EDIT 9 April 2016: I know I haven’t been actively posting updates, but I assure you, I have been working on the software. The reasons to why it has not been released are two: Firstly, school. Secondly, code complications and laziness or lack of time (due to school) to fix them. I know these are not valid excuses, but nonetheless, I will try to release the software as soon as I can. Feel free to message/follow me on Steam (Xyfurion) or on Twitter (@Xyfurion) to stay up to date on the progress. Cheers!

Will soon upload to github due to the sheer number of people who asked on reddit.

How to use:
Pixel offset: The number of pixels the specified asset is shifted along the X or Y axis.
Shadow offset: The number of pixels the shadow is shifted from the Asset
Align Horizontal and Vertical: Where the anchor point of the specified asset will be.
Attach Horizontal and Vertical: Where the specified asset will be on the screen.

Once you save, you will get a “ShooterUI.ini”
Navigate to “C:\Documents\My Games\UnrealEngine3\ShooterGame\Config” and create a backup of your current ShooterUI.
Then move the ShooterUI.ini you saved from the software and drop it into the Config folder.
Start the game up and you should be using your newly created HUD config!

This Software and Thread will be updated often so please check back frequently.

Estimated Release Date for the full version: Mid-Late April *Tentative

Note: I apologize if this thread is vague. I will be adding things to make it clearer. But for now my priority is to work on this software and make it complete. Remember: I started this software as a hobby.

Wow…this looks interesting! :o
It would be incredible if someone could make an up to date working HUD generator.

Keep it up, dude.

(gg2ez) #3

You sir, are a miracle worker.

(APRenpsy) #4

Alrighty! Finally man.

(InfernoKun) #5

Looking really good so far. Good luck with the progress!

(TheVulpesFox) #6

We should get this shifted to general! More people need to know about your work!!!

(Xyfurion) #7

@TheVulpesFox Thanks to @Amerika , it has been done!

(SarathSai) #8

Every time I run the software I get un-expected java error

(Feley) #9

Try 32-bit version @SarathSai

(gg2ez) #10

@Xyfurion any estimate as to when the preview window will be working? I really can’t do HUDdy things without visual aid >.>

(N8o) #11

Props to you for making more content than the devs.

(Amerika) #12

Yup, this is awesome. Not only could it become a very helpful utility for the entire community but he’s also made the source code available so the program can stay relevant in the future. And I just read the bit about Github…that will be awesome. And you won’t have to do it all alone.

(Xyfurion) #13

@gg2ez I’m planning on completely reworking the GUI to make it more user friendly. I’ll be posting updates on progress on twitter while updating the current version as it is being reworked. Basically what I’m trying to say is that while I’m making the full version, this will still be updated although not as much.

In answer to your question. Estimated time for full version is late march-early April although the dates may change. I am on twitter often so keep an eye on that: @Xyfurion

(XavienX) #14

Well, this should’ve been the devs responsibility since day 1 for players who enjoy this game, not the players’ responsibility. But thanks a lot for making this

(Ballto) #15

to be honest, the in game hud is fine, just fine not great, i would much rather dev resources be spent on more important things that the community can not do like game bug fixes and mercs and such, while things like this are made possible and encouraged by the dev team so the community can get involved.

I mean, DBG making planetside API open to the public and some guys making a real time stat tracker

the several gorbillion mods for tf2

single player games like fallout and the elder scrolls series letting modders run wild

mods and other community developed things are very important to a games life span, as a more involved community is necessary.

we need more people like @Xyfurion

(bontsa) #16

This is magnificent so far and can’t wait to see some updates on this  Keep up with the awesome work whenever you have time again @Xyfurion !
Is a bump :>
(Torch189) #17

Yeah I am a noob at that stuff, don’t understand half of it, but it sounds smart and all the comments are positive so it must be good :open_mouth:
Jk guys, great stuff

(b8rpwn1337) #18

very kewl… i like it

(Jesus) #19

notice me whenever the preview function works!

(Xyfurion) #20

@bontsa Thanks dude (you too @b8r ), I really appreciate it. I’m actually reworking the GUI to make it easier for the end user (like @Torch and @Jesus ) to understand what’s going on. ETA is end of March but no guarantees. If I work on it during spring break I can, hopefully, squeeze in a release by April. Once again, thank you all.
