Anyone else feel like Sawbones’s health packs take ages to heal himself? While I understand that the self heal penalty is needed to prevent him from going commando, I don’t think it should be as severe as you only heal for about 8-16 health per second while they heal others by about 60-80 health per second, which means he has a self heal penalty of about 75%-90%. None of the other medics have such a massive self heal penalty as it’s only 20% for Sparks and Phoenix, and Aura’s at 40%. I believe that the ether self heal penalty should be reduced somewhat or the self healing not be interrupted unless he receives a total of 30-50 damage.

He is the best at healing others, being the worst at self heal is a fair trade.
If you are the only healer in the team, either choose Phoenix, or try to not take damage.
Hide behind your teammates, only revive when they die close to cover, etc.
If they have a brain, they will know that keeping the medic alive is important - even bodyblocking bullets for him. I do it a lot when the medic is good enough, I get revived if the medic stays alive anyway. Most of the time they appreciate it and stay close to me, and revive me first.
If your teammates are dumb, you probably shouldn’t play medic anyway.

i thought sawbonez has an instant self heal 10hp if he received the pack
its not much but coupled with his pack regen is pretty good.
also the slow regen applied to all medic and not only sawbonez.
