I think the minimum level to join competitive play shouldd be increased to about level 7-8 to improve the value of teamwork throughout a team because to many time i have had a team of level 5’s which i have nothing wrong with i love playing with new people just sadly not in a game mode where i have my rank i have had too many teams of level 5’s with no mics all playing vassili and doing nothing.
Increase level to join competitive play.
As much as I dislike the fact to block people out of something based on a level, I would agree. I tried some bompetitive games. It was a pain in the ass. You either play with total, excuse me, total idiots who don’t know jack shit about the game, where I’m wondering, why they even go into “Competitive”, against very good teams, or both teams have idiots but 1 or 2 are aimbotting.
I definitely agree, but for a different reason. I’d like to see a higher level, maybe 10 or so, because it will mostly keep out the cheaters. There should also be a merc requirement, as in you should own 4-5 mercs just to be able to play comp. That’ll stop hackers almost indefinitely.

In the past you needed to be level 7 to queue up for ranked. Which I personally thought was great because it meant that you would have had at least a few hours in with the game and have seen all the maps. You might even know how to play a class or two by then. However, MM wasn’t hardly used because the population at the time was low and the barrier to entry was high (and there were other reasons). So it was changed to level 5. Which, IMO, is too low but I get why the barrier to entry was lowered. It’s a damned if you do an damned if you don’t situation.
However, with the population being much bigger now I wouldn’t mind seeing an increase to 6 or 7 again.
If it increases to 7, in a month or two people will want 10. Another 6 months, 15. It’s a bandaid solution, and the devs have stated they don’t want the barrier to entry on competitive play being too high, forcing you to “grind out” casual matches when you’re serious about wanting to get into comp.
I don’t care either way, but wanted to lend an “other side” to the argument. To me, the issue is more about matchmaking and ‘hackers’ than people’s ranks.
It’s hard to properly rate a person’s skill level when, at level 5, they might only have seen two maps. I hit level 4 in my first stopwatch game I believe and hit 5 in my second. Had I gone to ranked after that I would have never played quite a few of the maps. That’s an extreme example but it’s plausible that many experienced FPS people would hit 5 before they even see every side of each map let alone learn what they need to know to be competitive.
Playing with/against people who haven’t had time to figure out the game can be just as damaging as playing against people who have had a ton of time. So in this case SD has pretty much picked their poison and simply removed most of the barrier to entry and let people get to ranked at 5.

But still, rank 5 is still way too low, I never play comp unless my friends are online.
Waiting for that change, hope even change to higher level, can’t just join the competitive match with other teammates, sometimes…don’t like to say, but pain in the ass
Wouldn’t it just be better for people to realize that quick join is not match making? :^)
It should be level 10. Why should we have to suffere through a comp game where we can’t leave and our stats are getting destroyed because people who don’t even know what they are doing and can’t play their class join our team.
