Inconsistent Sensitivity

(n-x) #1

Does anyone else have this problem too that sometimes your sensitivity changes? I think I currently have to play with 3 different sensitivities. Mine, a lower one, and a super low one. It seems it mostly happens in Execution when there is a new round that it goes to one of the lower ones. In the majority of cases tabbing out 1-2 times solves the problem.

I just want to find out if it is a bug (when somebody else has the same problem) or if the problem is on my end (which I doubt because I never had this problem in other games)

does your mouse has a 2nd dpi option?

@b8r
It has 7. From 250 up to 2000 in installments of 250 dpi. I already tried it on 500, 1000, and 2000.

it may feel different based on the changes of your fps from map to map in relation to your screen refresh rate and mouse polling rate. Say if you get over 144 frames @ 144 Hz, if it drops below 144 during the game, you can experience stuttering which might make it feel that you need to change your sens. Its like if you clock your mouse at 62 Hz but you’re playing at 144 Hz. You’ll experience stuttering/micro stuttering and it will generally make you feel like you need to up your sensitivity to compensate. You should try capping your refresh rate to the lowest drop in frames that you experience (in all maps) as also capping your frames there too. This will give more consistency. There are other variables such as prerendered frames that you may want to consider when you cap.

is it because of the sensitivity in-game that changes by itself or is it another issue?

I haven’t had the sensitivity problem but i have to tab out (pull up my task manager) each time i join a new server, other wise my computer sits there say Dirty Bomb in not responding.

I thought at one point that opening the options menu, saving the settings and going back to the game seemed to shift the sensitivity, even if I didn’t actually make any changes, but I put it down to my imagination. Might test it a bit more tonight.

@Kingsley Thx for your input. But I dont think that is the problem. I run the game stabile between 90 and 120 fps. The problem doesnt occure when I come from a small room/corridor into the open or something. It is after the respawn and it is a absolute sudden. As if someone changed your sensitivity value by half. But I would be interessted in those commands with which you can cap your fps. I only found an old command that didnt work anymore.

@b8r I havent checked yet if the displayed value in my settings really changes, but it feels like: my normal value is 6. I die. I respawn. Now it feels like the value is 2. I tab out. Back to the feeling of 6 sometimes of 4.

Either your FPS is going up and down drastically which can affect your mouse movement or you are accidentally hitting a DPI up/down button while playing.

Unless the game keeps loading two different configs that have different sensitivity values (possible since I had that same issue when rebinding vote buttons a while back) then it’s probably one of the two things I cited. However, since I know there was a similar bug with binds I’ll move this to the bug forum.

@Amerika Please dont move it to the Bug report forum. I already reported it. All that happened is Noxie said, she will look into it. And we all know that this means nothing. I put that here on purpose to see if other people have the same problem. Its definately no fps problem.
