Going into a lengthy rant on the forum about a single individual’s ability with playing aura is the dick move here. I’m reasonably sure the guy in question wasn’t scheming this ahead of time, “You know what will really annoy people? If I put my healing station in sub-optimal places…! Yeah, that’ll do it!” - I get that it’s annoying, and everyone loves to win… but seriously. Might want to dial it down a notch.
[INCOMING RANT] Do People Know What "Don't Be a Dick" Means?!?!?!?!
@Backuplight
I’m not ranting about a “suboptimal” placement, I’m ranting about someone who knows damn well that it is a bad spot (after we all die not before) and turns on me like I’m the bad guy. I told him as polite as possible in a way that can still convey my point. He’s the one who turned it into a dick move situation by saying that it works for him. As in he doesn’t care that our team is dying because he selfishly put the aura station in a spot that was in no way helping the team. I told that’s called being a dickhead and he tried to turn on me like I did something wrong. I understand I really shouldn’t complain about stupid people (or people who aren’t ad smart as me as dog would put it, even though anyone with half a brain would know that’s a bad spot to put in), but I don’t believe I’m wrong in this situation. I’m stubborn, okay?

Youre a bit of a dick, but we all are. Were all dicks sometimes no matter what we do.
He was a bigger dick than you in that situation assuming you were polite, or just stubborn and thick.
Its okay, ill be your medic.
@DMaster2
Well if there is one thing I’ve learned from the Internet is that saying “please” and “thank you” doesn’t always get through to people. I didn’t say “you’re an idiot for placing the aura station there” I told him that the placement was a bad idea, but still gave him the choice of where to put it as it is ultimately his choice. I didn’t even say “put it here” like I’m bossing him around.
@Ballto
Well who hasn’t teabagged a downed teammate before right?
Of course there was a always medic right behind me to revive the downed teammate.

Y’know what I hate? People. Especially in this game. People can literally screw a game just by being a dick in crucial moments. For example (which happened like 5 minutes ago) my team and I were defending the Drug Room on the last objective of Bridge. We were doing good, about 3 minutes left in the match and no objective delivered. Unfortunately, we didn’t have an ammo station, because I nor my teammates had Kira or Stoker. So one of our Auras had to switch to Skyhammer (luckily, wasn’t some noob, just happened to have the defaulters in his squad) and the other Aura was… a dick. So instead of putting the Aura station in the spot that LITERALLY EVERY AURA PUTS THE AURA STATION IN BECAUSE IT IS THE BEST SPOT AND ONLY GOOD SPOT TO PUT IT IN, he puts in between a window and a doorway closes to the front door! So the entire team had to cluster into an orgy around that aura station to get heals, and, of course, the opposing team easily mowed us down, grabbed the objective, and delivered. Then they did it again in like 30 seconds. Now, that is usually a noob mistake, understandable. But this guy was like a level 8, so he should somewhat know what he’s doing, right? NOPE! I told him, before all Hell broke loose, something like “that is a bad bad bad idea” and then me and him died while I typed. And he said, oh get this, he said “well too bad”. I almost went all one-inch punch on my computer screen because we immediately lost because of that. I said “See, that’s called being a dickhead. You should stop that.” and he retaliated in the most idiotic response of “well I just saw 4 people hold them off (as we were immediately dying and losing) so it clearly worked. you shouldn’t tell people how to play. THAT’S called being a dickhead. dickhead”. I paraphrased as accurate as possible on that as I could. I explained that we could all die from one grenade because it was basically a clusterfck. And he said “Maybe, but not that time”. Then I promptly left the lobby. And before you say “well you can call a noob a dick, he didn’t know better” I’m not calling him a dick for badly placing the Aura station. I’m calling him a dick for KNOWING it’s a bad spot, and still leaving it there for our team to get stomped on.
Of course, not the only thing I have to complain about because I’m like the King of Whining.
I remember like a month or two ago this guy decided "You know what? Fck everyone!" and on Bridge he took the objective and ran ALL THE WAY TO THE AMMO BOX ON THE TRAINTRACKS ON THE BRIDGE. And just left it there. And he camped there and picked it up and put it down constantly so it wouldn’t reset. Of course I tried to grab it, but he glitched it into the ammo box somehow and I couldn’t grab it. I kinda lost it. I tried to kick him and FOR SOME REASON PEOPLE NEVER KICK THE PERSON WHO NEEDS TO BE KICKED SO BADLY SO WE CAN WIN! I don’t understand that at all! Everyone knows that if they don’t kick this guy, we lose because he’s being a dick. But for some reason, they never do! Needless to say, we lost.
To finish up this rant/whine/whatever the hell us you wanna call it, I’m just gonna say I know that no matter how hard we try, we can’t just stop trolls and dickheads. They’re gonna be there and gonna keep dicking around just to piss people off. But hopefully some dickhead will read this one day and be like “Y’know what? Maybe people do have feeling. Maybe people do wanna win this game, because winning is fun. Maybe I shouldn’t be a dickhead.” And maybe they’ll stop. Wishful thinking right?[/quote]
TL;DR please.
Also I know what the meaning of “Don’t be a dick”. But I choose to, to unleash my rage. Just ignore it. It usually happened when one dies constantly over, and over. They than always get the long spawn, and never get a kill.
Making mistakes is different than being a dick. Calling people dicks because they make mistakes on a fucking game is being a dick. OP is a dick.
This thread is why I advocate for stronger matchmaking, so we never have to play with the lowest common denominator ever again.
@insightfulHelicopter
I guess people just don’t read anymore. I am NOT calling him a dick for making a mistake. I’m calling him a dick for him knowing that he made a mistake and selfishly refusing to not correct it which caused us to lose. I’m so tired of having to explain this.
That’s exactly why I usually play medic. Either there is no medic on the team yet or I see there is one but he/she is still a low lvl player. I usually encourage them to keep playing as a medic and then I’ll go medic as well if we’re with more than 6 players in a team. It’s already hard for an experienced player to help all his teammates on his own if you’re playing with more than 6 players in your team. So if I can help the person in my team by playing a medic as well then I’ll do that.
Sometimes you come across people that don’t want to adapt to the situation or listen to good advice, it can happen.
A few days ago I joined a game where we were attacking on Terminal (final objective). It was 6v6. I joined and there were only 3 people who had a medic in their squad (me included). The first guy was playing as engineer and was the best player on the team and then there was a guy who was a few lvl’s higher than me, playing as Sparks. Apparently the final push for the final objective didn’t go that well. They barely made it past the first objective. So as soon as the best player on our team saw that I joined the team and that I had a medic in my squad, he almost begged me to play as medic because the other guy was only trying to snipe enemies with the revive gun. So I went medic, it was close but we won. But the game itself was pretty frustrating for our team because our best player was asking revive me to the other guy but he never did even though it was easy for him to do so. In the end they were just insulting eachother so it was already a miracle that we won the match.
You will find these kind of guys in every kind of MP game. The problem is that in Dirty Bomb these people are even more of a handicap for a team since it’s so objective based.
