I really like the look of cathedral_final, and even though the timings seem ok, I’m concerned the big ‘feel’ that the architecture can give may turn some people off

I’ve had a run around Sabotage and wasn’t that impressed, but it’ll be interesting to see how it goes. Ironically for a comp player, I feel it’s a little boring :F

Anyhow, I’m one of the admins at GameArena in Australia, where we have 50+ teams competing in our sixth ET season. This is where Ders hails from, and where Hiro did some fine work before he retired some months ago. Ifurita, I don’t remember seeing a list of comp-worthy maps that Hiro compiled - although there is a list of maps in the latest GA mapppack plus a few maps in development that Hiro liked.
Anyhow, as for admins ‘caving in’, I do admit that plenty of customs have been tried and then removed at GA -
Caen //Season 2 - then dumped, you’d probably agree it’s not suitable for SW
MML Church //S2 - Was very rarely played, I’ve played 2 league games on it and that’s the record for one player…not great for 7o7/6o6, but 3v3 I think would suit
Password2 //S2 + S4 & S4 finals - Decent map, pps seem to have a love/hate r/ship with it…close to inclusion for S6
TC_Base //S2 + S4 - RTCW base port, not that suitable for ET imho
V2base TE //S3 - Ironically brought in by popular vote, imho because ppl believed it was a RTCW port (Hiro pulled a shifty :p) Didn’t favour offence…
Stalingrad //S3 + S3 finals - Not very popular, mineable OBJ’s + some fps issues maybe? Dropped after S3
Venice rc2 //S3 - Beautiful map, but doesn’t seem to play out that well. Poor poll results.
Rommel_GA //S4 - Didn’t prove popular
Beerrun //S4 - Removed after that season due to poll results showing it was rated good by just ~20% of pps
Dubrovnik_etc //S4 - Another decent map that just seems to have something lacking, average poll results brought about it’s demise although it’s popularity has seemed to increase
Raw Castle TE //S5 - We thought it might go okay, but it wasn’t popular and probably isn’t up to scratch
Rochelle //S5 - High hopes, but turned out to be too difficult for Allies - cut 1/2 way through season

Adlernest B5 //New to S6, & hasn’t been played much yet…but it takes time
We’ve tried to give customs exposure by making customs part of the finals series’, and I ran a couple of custom map exhibtion games before this season, where Reactor, Adlernest, River II Redux, Dubrovnik, and et_beach got some exposure. Finals + exhibition matches are ETTV’d.
Dersaidin: When we add the new mappack I plan to revamp/supersede the thread you linked to
PS. I suggested sub and MML Church for 3o3 somewhere else Ders - you might consider at least testing those maps for austourney play
