In-Game Ignore

(onYn) #1

I really would like to have a way to ignore specific people in game. Sometimes I just don´t want to read how 2 people flame and insult each other… or when someonelse is just annoying me.

 How can you not like ingame flames?

Would be cool, but flame is sometimes funny to read

most important feature of dota 2

without sounding like a bit of a prick…

If this was a in-game VOICE ignore I would totally agree with you has it does have a real impact on gameplay.
However, as you are talking about peoples Text Chat… I do not see why you cannot ignore it yourself. In-fact the issue is while people argue it does not mean they will not come out with a decent call or bit of info at some point throughout the game. Maybe my perspective is different as someone that played Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 for over 3000 hours and have become used to “rage”.

If you’re trying to communicate with your team or talk to someone via chat and there are two guys just flaming each other, a simple ignore feature is a godsend.

a simple cvar command would do the trick. most people would want that for competition too. cg_teamchat and chatbeep were pretty important back in the day

I have TTS enabled for this exact reason, a chat beep would be a welcomed feature.

Everyone who wants to endure, enjoy or participlate in flame wars don´t have to ignore anyone. I am myself someone who likes the flame. It´s just for people who are for example sober as ****, and/or just want to play some easy peasy games, and prefere not to watch 6 year old girls fighting or telling me in a arrogant way how to play the game.
