In game friends list

(Dr_Fumbles) #1

@MissMurder this really needs to happen ASAP.

I enjoy the game, but with no way to add people directly through steam, and no friends list in game. Meeting cool people and then trying to play with them again is a serious chore atm.

If I had the ability to add friends easily in game with a simple right click on the score screen where the rest of the options are (kick / mute / etc) that would be optimal. The more people I find to play the game with, the more often I’ll play, the more time I invest in the game, the more I want to spend money on it =)

Let’s make this happen please!

To sweeten the deal, have some murder cookies ^.^

I imagine we’ll get something more along the lines of steam integration that let’s us see recent players at some point, though I haven’t heard this from anywhere to confirm. Just seems like a sensible/logical step on their list of things-to-do.

Open the playerlist, leftklick, rightklick the one you want, go to “view steam profile”. That’s what you are missing?
Writing it down seems to make it sound quite complicated, though.

Doesn’t this option already exist?
EDIT: I understand now, and I agree. Would be nice

And reading the op’s post again, it’s exactly there were he wrote, he would like to have it. Thought it was somewhere else, and he looked there before, sry.

lol wasn’t aware the post would cause so much confusion!

Sure you can try to add people by looking up their user profile on steam, doesn’t always work though. I know mine can be tricky to find at times.

Which is why I asked for a ‘easy’ way to do it via an in game menu or as backup posted (2x in a row! chuckle), steam integration that allows us to see recently played with players to add them that way.

Personally would prefer to have a friends list in game, specifically for this game though. Not sure about anyone else but my steam list gets out of control at times and you can’t always remember who you met playing what game.

A MUST HAVE feature. The argument you can add people through Steam overlay is weak. You can’t even see someone’s Steam avatar picture and nick names aren’t always unique. Good luck finding the right person.

(N8o) #8

Well, I mean, there is already an integrated steam option on the scoreboard.

(Dr_Fumbles) #9

Exactly hehe. Why I said I know it’s hard for people to find me at times. Definitely need a friends list option

I like friends lists that are on a per game basis, not steam wide.

Also the Steam search function is notoriously bad. Like, Rogue Warrior level bad.

Here is your 50000 results for Old Man, have a nice day.

Is the View Steam Profile option new or have I just be extremely blind this entire time?

(Ghosthree3) #13

It’s new, added last patch - not hotfix.

(D'@athi) #14

Was added 2 weeks ago.

I agree. It would be amazing to have a friendlist in-game, without having a need to add them in Steam. Otherwise sooner or later the friendlist goes out of control and I’ll end to have a lot people on the list I don’t even remember who they are. Of course we can limit that and add only few people to the friendlist in Steam, but still having in-game friendlist and Steam friendlist separated would be amazing.

They have mentioned on the dev streams that better Steam integration is coming. Hopefully a few common features from other games will get added at some point in the nearish future.

Very much looking forward to this!!

I like the current system as integrating an in-game friend list would also mean they’d have to integrate a chat system to go with it and more so it just seems like unnecessary work.

It’s easy to play with somebody, like them, then press tab, right click, view steam profile. You don’t have to search them and get confused by Steam’s crappy user search. I find the current system pretty easy to use and think they should further work on steam integration.
