In An Effort To Ban Negativism Around Brink

(GlobalWar) #1

Stop reacting on troll posts and obvious whiners. This kind of people can not be pleased anyway so they better be ignored.

What Brink (or any other game) needs is positive feedback.

Peace!

It’s funny you can never make a thread like this without someone calling you a whiner or complainer and you’ve become everything you hate.

(H3LLS1) #3

LOL + rep for you for ruining the reason i was originally going to post a reply here

(Oschino1907) #4

No we just need a “complaint board” to dump all the trash into and that way the devs can ignore all the crap and follow the Open Discussion Board to read through positive feedback/sugesstions on what others are experiancing with the game. Its enough to see the same “trolls” popping into every half constructive thread let alone allowing them to post numerous “troll” threads day after day about the same few topics.

(Kurnuttaja) #5

Ppl have made alot of good suggestions in the forums but as the troll posts are the most interesting, they all just get flooded to next page.

(gooey79) #6

It’s often misunderstood how much learning there can be from a complaint. For genuine complainants, the so called ‘negativism’ is because they care.

People that don’t care say nothing and just walk away. To a degree, some of that can be demonstrated by Brink’s significantly low player count on Steam compared to the headcount at release.

The ones that are here want to see something done to either fix or improve the game. How is that a bad thing? I’m all for rooting out and stopping ‘trolls’ but even the suggestion of banning negativity is just ridiculous.

This.

Fanbois need to realise that just because /they/ are happy with Brink, others are not.

That’s not wrong, it’s a different opinion.

ALL feedback is valuable when put in context and correlated against the standard.

Plane trolling and whining is not the same as constructive feedback.

If your game is not “working” you can simply explain whats not working. Maybe someone is able to help you.
Maybe you can not be helped at this moment? Wait for a patch and don’t expect a patch in a few days! Patching software costs time!

If you think you have made a mistake buying this game, to bad, **** happens, I buy stuff I regret buying (and eating in most cases) all the time but I am not going to whine about it on forums. Mislead by marketing? Wow thats something new! Grow up, advertising is invented to make you buy stuff you most likely don’t want or need.

Brink is awesome for a lot of people, not for you? no problem, just leave this forums, go on with your live. I am not whining on the CoD forums am I?

Off playing an awesome game (Brink!)

Exactly, I have been feeling like a broken record around here trying to get those points across.

(fearlessfox) #10

Exactly as “worthless” as mindless praising when you look at it from a singular perspective.

Thread A
Title: “This game is Awesome”
Body: “Don’t you think?”

Thread B
Title: “This game is Terrible”
Body: “Don’t you think?”

My point was that if you take /all/ feedback and weigh it up you’ll have a very good idea about how feedback for your game is balanced.

If you’re honest with yourself, how many times in your life have you thought of buying a product and read mostly negative reviews and strayed away?

If negativity outweighs positivity, chances are you’re doing something wrong.

Whiners ALWAYS outnumber the Praisers, why? The Praisers are playing the game and whiners are…whining on forums.

So that makes me a …

why would you want to

BAN

negativism?

This is true, but there are degrees of negativity that are above the standard. And it’s about taking feedback in from all sources, which I’m sure SD are doing.

I wrote correlation, not snapshot.

(thrill11) #14

You can’t ban the negativity. Not that I’m promoting it, but if there was no negativity then what would be the point of the forum in the first place? Can you really say anything else? OK, fine, the SMART is awesome. There you go. Nothing else to say really. And when people pay $60 and realize its unfinished, and, for the most part, hard to enjoy without the L word (not going to say it because we all know) then you BETTER expect some negativity and LOTS of it. One thread won’t stop it. You’re really just feeding the trolls.

(Kill5Joy) #15

I think what this thread is basically saying is no more Gmonet’s. If you’ve seen any of his threads or posts you know what I’m talking about.

(thrill11) #16

Haha I’ll look into that. “Gmonet’s” seems funny. :penguin:
