Today I was playing a match on Underground, all was well until 6/7 enemy players decided to switch to Fletcher. I’m assuming they were from the rotation too because of all the lead cards. Sticky bombs, so very many of them. I was getting frustrated, but realized this happens every time. Nader rotation - launcher spam, Rhino rotation - minigun spam, and etc. So what if players were separated into groups, with each group having a different merc rotation from each other? That way there wouldn’t be “merc spam” like right now making for a bit more balanced gameplay. I can’t think of any negatives from this system, but that might just be my overexcited self. Thoughts?
Improving the Merc Rotation System?
It doesnt need improvement, every merc has “counter” agaisnt which they are less powerful and even sometimes powerless, fletcher is mostly close range you got a fletcher situation ? take a vassili a make it a real feast, you dont like vassili ? you still have Red eye Grandeur and burst rifles. Keep the distance and you re fine
But with my suggestion it brings more variety into the mercs on the field. And to what you said about the Fletcher counter, if nobody on a team owns a sniper, the group rotation system will theoretically mean that somebody will have it.
I have all the merc it wont change jackshit for me anyway. I just think its not really an important thing given all what there is to do already
It might not affect the mercs you play, but it’ll affect the mercs you fight against. I guess thats what I’m trying to get at here. But after all, it is just a random thought I had.
Not quite the same, but very similar (the title is different but the thread turns into your thread basically) http://forums.dirtybomb.nexon.net/discussion/24627/please-stop-putting-explosive-classes-on-free-rotation
But yes, totally on board with the personal merc rotation idea
p.s. I also have all the mercs, so free rotation doesn’t affect me
Merc rotation is fine, there is no problem. Knowing ahead of time what mercs are in the free rotation lets you know what to have in your loadout to counter.
If you fail to prepare, you are preparing to fail.
If anything, maybe… either decrease the length of each rotation or add 4th merc to a 2 week rotation.
