I'm always looking at the floor when running

It’s saying “all other things being equal”.
It’s far too difficult to come up with a hypothetical situation that contains all the variables we are wanting to look at and include all sorts of extraneous variables that we don’t wish to look at.
The best proof is in the playtesting and this seems balanced in my experience. Your milage may vary.
You just passed ‘Arguing with Tokamak 101’. Congratulations.

The lesson for ‘Arguing with Tokamak 102’ is: He never concedes a point. He won’t respond to points when you are correct.
It was a civil enough conversation about the topic on hand. He did bring up some good points and I think I did too. I’m happy with the conclusions people will draw from what we have said

Maybe they can make it trigger for a smaller region when not using ADS. eg:

 • Anywhere in the body when using ADS.
 • Only when aiming chest and up (or headshot only) when not using ADS.

Just for the record this is how combat intuition works.

If you’re not on the enemy’s radar and you put your crosshairs over them they will get the combat intuition warning. You don’t need to iron sight.

Additionally if you’re an operative in a stolen uniform you appear on the enemy’s radar as a friendly player. So if you’re in a uniform and behind the bad guys they WILL NOT get combat intuition if you put your crosshairs on them. It only occurs once you lose the uniform.

I tested these out today with a friend on an empty server. Hope this clears things up.
If you’re actually in danger you don’t have much time to react to a planned attack though. It’s only really useful when you’re running along and someone is taking a potshot at you or if there’s a sniper trying to draw a bead.
It’s made me get my head down often enough to make me like it but I still get sliced up from a good ambush.
This is so wrong and it makes me think that you only play heavy because of it. You have no idea how many times I’ve been capturing a command post, saw the indicator, and immediately stopped, turned around, and slide out of the way, eventually killing the enemy. It basically allows you to react that much faster.

Wait wait so disguised operatives don’t give you the indicator?

Well I tested it with my friend and he said I showed up as a teammate on his radar and he had never looked at me. He was facing the wall and I have silent footsteps so I think you automatically show up on the radar as a friendly.

When doing this I had his uniform and put my crosshairs on his back. I even iron-sighted to use homing beacon and he never got the intuition. The moment I pressed fire and lost my uniform he got the combat intuition.

This leads me to believe that you cannot be spotted with combat intuition as a disguised Operative. But I was on his radar as a friendly. I’m not sure if there’s a way to NOT be on the radar when you have a uniform.

Edit:
Just confirmed it. You show up as a friendly even if you run all the way across the map and never were spotted. So you only trigger combat intuition once you take your gun out and are behind them. You can do all sorts of homing beacon stuff and mine spotting without issue.

Great news, I was always wondering if people are just stupid when I mark them in packs from behind or its a disguise at work

I’d say that that wasn’t a planned attack. If it was he would have been firing at you by the time you got the warning.
That was an attack of opportunity. He saw you grabbing the post (or heard the announcement and was nearby) and was running towards you with his sights on you (probably out of range at the time).
In that case it is great because it does allow you to react.
A planned attack in that case would have been announced with a grenade at your feet before you got the alert.

And no: I play a medium and a light. I get toasted to proper ambushes but have been saved many times by responding to the warning with a slide in many different circumstances (capping, fighting, running from A to B).

I agree it allows you to react faster. I was just saying that a properly planned attack won’t give you the warning in time.

The super sneaky (as someone else mentioned) will fire a single shot before aiming at you (or walking the fire over you) as that should put them on your radar and won’t trigger combat intuition (since they’re on your radar).
