If you pre-ordered from D2D and would like to preload from Steam READ THIS!

steam://install/22350/

There you go, done.

You can now simply obtain your key from D2D and add it to your steam library. Don’t use that crappy D2D DLM.

Either I (and others) are missing something or that method does not work if you did not preorder via Steam / did not enter a key yet.

You can start the preload using this command instead of the steam library, but it does not start a download if you do not own Brink on Steam.

That method hasn’t worked for a long time. Stop spewing this info.

(At the Gates) #4

This guy keeps spreading false information over at the Steam forums. This method only works if you pre-order from Steam.

(indirect) #5

steam://install/22350/

I wrote the wrong command.

At the Gates, shut the **** up. I’ve already finished my preload and I purchased from D2D.

(AvengeR3) #6

Not working for with the new command. Steam pauses for 10 seconds then nothing happens. Any ideas?

(indirect) #7

Restart Steam maybe?

Maybe it works for me because I had pre-ordered from Steam then had them cancel so I could go with D2D? Highly unlikely, but entirely possible.

(Ragoo) #8

Works fine for me

(indirect) #9

Glad :). See you on Tuesday:infiltrator:

(Angrim) #10

Did you preorder via Steam? If you did not, what download server are you using (Steam settings)?

(Ragoo) #11

I don’t think so, I’m from EU (Germany)

And yeah I preordered via Steam.

(Mustang) #12

I have a pre-order, but not with Steam nor D2D, and I’ve not entered a serial into Steam, for me neither of them are working

(Cankor) #13

What’s the benifit of downloading via steam vs D2D?

(SockDog) #14

I put my D2D provided key into Steam and I’m downloading from Steam right now. I didn’t dare click on the D2D download link, I want my icon in Steam NOW!!

(Cankor) #15

So I don’t even need that 5 meg D2D download helper right?

(indirect) #16

It’s a Steamworks title so it’s required to be run through steam anyways.

That’s right.

(elevator13) #17

I think you have to tie the key to your Steam account (Games -> Activate a Product on Steam…) before you can run that URL; I doubt they’d let you download a game, even if it was encrypted, if there was no way to tell you owned it. And if you already activated the key on your account, I imagine you could just preload it as normal.

(Cankor) #18

Perfect, I just went to that menu, plugged in the key, and it automatically registered it and started the download.

(indirect) #19

I’ve actually done it with the past 3 games I’ve pre-ordered on D2D.

(madness) #20

brinkgame BRINK
