Not true, my two biggest reasons for avoiding Ranked are the ridiculous penalty window and 5v5

I’m sorry, but I was gold 3 as highest rank this match, and was blaced with a bronze 1, the lowest possible ranked player you could get. He team killed several times that match, turned out he had less than a hundred hours and was 7 years old. He was so proud of being able to play. It really hurt us, and him that we had to carry him through. He was quite literally the most useless person I’ve ever seen in DB. Didn’t even get 2000 score after a full ranked match that we ended up losing, while playing AURA.

The reason I bring this up, is that THIS, this is what ruined ranked for me. Because after that match I lost 57% of a rank. We have such a low playerbase, or such a stupid matchmaking base that I got stuck with someone who couldn’t even play, in a team of mostly golds against higher silvers (two of which had been cobalts last season)… and lost. I rarely play it because almost every match is not fun. Idle penalties for the most part, I support. But if a life emergency comes up, It’s more important than the game. Always.

!But if you have to pee? Pause vote, go pee. 80% or more of the people that play this game are male, you can pee fast.

his first two lines followed by what? a list of things what could happen to him along with the general blame of the devs and the threat of uninstalling the game.

stack window is fine, it is half a day. you can argue as much as you want about how long games are and blabla (insert generic wall of text). If you can’t cope with a 12 h window (it is not even the penalty!!), then god may help you. or science, depends what you believe in.

if a nerd has the intention of feeling self-entitled to throw the game by leaving and he has 12 hours time to play: with a 2h window, he can throw a shit ton of games.

I got a question for you: Do you play 12h a day on a regular basis? If yes, do you think this:

  • sad
  • cool
  • good
  • all of the above

btw. I have no idea what 5v5 has to do with that. do you have a discussion (link to thread) where you explained your problematic with 5v5?

No, but like I said, a 12h window means I could’ve, say, had to piss real bad at 1am during my last game of the night, barely missed the afk timer and gotten kicked, then… gone to bed, slept 8 full hours, woken up, spent 2 hours having breakfast and getting ready, then sat down to play DB, only to get interrupted by an important delivery that showed up earlier than anticipated, and summarily banned for the next 2 hours.

With a 2 hour window, you only punish people in the time that they’re actively playing. Hell, make it a 3 hour window. Trolls only get to screw one game per 3 hours which… if any troll comes back EVERY three hours to ruin a single game, then that’s his deal

Uhhh… I’ve complained about it in a lot of old threads. I’m not going to try and dig them up, they’re quite old at this point. 5v5 is a separate issue unrelated to the penalty stack window.

I feel no pity towards people who reject proven solutions to prevent this kind of problem. Especially if they have been around for almost two decades.

There is an easy fix, don’t be AFK or play CMM. There is major issues to fix in Ranked rather than this.
