First off, I want to congratulate Splash Damage on a game I love. But the one thing that really bothers me is that there really is 16 different ways to play, maximum =( (8 maps X 2 Sides) I do understand that you are working hard, and are probably low on cash. I’m not asking for anything in the following to be free of course! I think every map should have 4 game modes, and I mean radically different ones. I will show you how these could work on old maps, and new ones also.
Standard- The campaign mode, what big teams is right now.
Stopwatch- The campaign mode, what competitive is right now, but on stopwatch
Third person- A number of people have requested this, and it at least is interesting. Gives a more tactical perspective, and apparently is already implemented. Watch this!
Now those two modes would decrease the amount of players getting lost. There will be no your level or up option, because the Brink community is too small to have people spread out. The next to give a storyline feel to the game, but they have nothing to do with it.
Build a boat!- Resistance has to gather 10 scraps, an engine (, a briefcase containing old world maps, a captain (escort mission.) and a NAV computer (with a bot) and bring it to the manufacturing plant/dock! There will be 20 scraps, 2 engines, 1 briefcase, 3 captains, and 1 NAV computer total on the map to discourage Camping. But the security has one advantage to stop them. The (human) player with the highest score can call in helicopters anywhere on the map (You guys really need a graphical map in the start screen, 2 birds in one stone) once every 5 minutes. After a crappy sliding down animation (We aren’t playing this game for the graphics), you can get on top of the roofs and key vantage points! (I don’t expect any of the old maps to be redone besides container city, because it has ocean access. For this mode though you would have to make it possible to get on the roofs, and build bridges so you can cross from one side to the other.) I bet this game mode would take 30-45 minutes.
Island Fortress- The ark is collapsing around you! Security doesn’t like the idea of dying, so they fortified several points with barricades around a central high point/long pathway to spot in the map. In the middle of this spot is access to the Arkoral, which security has been collecting for a while in the middle of this fortress, so they could remake an island! Resistance wants to get that arkoral for the masses as much as possible, but due to the fact that most of it is blocked by those walls, or by one of the many high point defensive bunkers/towers the security has, (that the resistance has to plant hack boxes in order to breach the security doors, and then an explosive to blow up those strategic defenses!) they rearmed the surface to surface missile to shoot down one of those barricades or towers, letting them destroy one of these things every 5 minutes. (This would be easy to do on one of the old maps.)
