Idea's for Next Patch (Mostly Balence But a Few Others)

loadout is pretty much a low graphics quality borderland mixed with TF2. Not that original and a different approach than with XT was chosen for the gameplay. Though fun to play, it’s mostly a jump’n’track kind of game.

Weapon design in Loadout is surprisingly good indeed, but I think the best feature they have is that you can test in a small map the changes you did on your gun and quickly decide if you keep it or go back to editing it. Also they don’t really care about balancing (the hammer has an aoe way too big) and you have to upgrade your guns fast if you want to keep up with the fights.

Note that XT now has a healing gun (on a medic based merc) :wink:

and when that happens, you push out and camp the eng, which forces the team to killout and respec for a new rush.

I do think the game has fundamentally lost its soul as a consequence of going class-less objective, and I don’t think variable proficiencies will bring it back. :frowning:

and what if engie goes sneaky? or they rush with 4 engies and, say, a medic? or they just wipe out your team with medics+soldiers and then push to spawn and cover engie, that resped?
there were several choices - there was element of surprise.
Now there is NO surprise at all. because you know - every one can do the obj. Just kill’em’all.

Agreed. It may turn out to be decent for different reasons, but as an ex rtcw and et player I have no interest in extraction.

I’m sure SD doesn’t like it either. However, they want to have the same space to operate in that most MOBAS have with non-compulsory classes. There are other ways around this issue, perhaps quite a few nobody has ever thought of.

The soul was all in the frustration of no one wanting to have to play engineer every round to do objs lol? That’s always been near the bottom of my list of things that give the game appeal.

A simple solution to all this is the XP you get, or coins… whatever it is.
While pro’s might ignore this part of the game, the large part of gamers will go for that.
So if your the right merc for the job, you not only plant dyna faster, but you also get a xp boost. Overall there has not been any work on the XP as it seems to me. Its free to play - give people a reason to play in team, protect the engi. K/D is one thing, but XP is for many even more important. If you get the most xp by annihilating the enemy as one man army… then there is no reason to play together. If you get a bonus for protecting the guy who tried to plant. In conjunction with his bonus. Players will make sure with time and learning to have the right merc for the job. Since that way they can soon unlock even more goodies. And possibly rank up even faster.

As much as Oldschool people probably hate XP, its what keeps many peoples addicted; and drives them to use a certain playstyle.

Speaking of Engys and all that jazz it got me thinking of pubs and what did happen when no one wanted to go engy.

It became more of a flag and capture game rather then a plant and defend game. Both were viable but then someone would need to kill out and go engy to plant. (Supply, Oasis and others)

The SW servers need the global timer! This will defy the maps. SW doesnt feel like SW with out that timer.
