[Idea] RNG Modifier

(gg2ez) #1

Seems like lots of people hate RNG or atleast find it offputting in it’s current form. My solution: RNG Modifier. Doesn’t give us full control over what cards we get, but also gives control over RNG to a certain extent.

Basically, you can buy regular cases for the regular fee of 1000c, but you can choose to pay more credits, and the more credits you pile on, the more the “%” of each rarity changes in your favour.

Obviously, the price to shift RNG would have to be fairly hefty.

Seems like a good idea. A reasonable starting price for this could be… 3000 credits?

(Ctrix) #3

That’s already in the game with the ABC cases.

(XavienX) #4

I like it, but then what about those level 20s and up who have a stack of credits laying there, wouldn’t that defeat the purpose of the Devs earning money…?

(Ctrix) #5

credits aren’t money

The numerical values used could be a simple way to solve the whole “RNG Mod>Elite Case” problem. Perhaps there could also be a cap as to how many credits are put on.

@Ctrix I think what @Xavien means is that the RNG Mod system would make people less likely to buy Elite Cases.

Just let me pick the loadout and then I’ll take my lottery ticket trying to win some bling…
I can’t choose the merc either so what do I care what rarity I’m really gonna get if I won’t use it?

Yeah no. Letting players pick their loadout is a surefire way to get a lack of diversity started. We already have free rotations and events like “all merc weekend” that allow you to use your bling every now and then.

So is it the players fault when certain guns and certain augments are obviously stronger than the others? If those were balanced, we’d already have a ton of less RNG complaining posts on forums. Stoker is currently probably the best example, I honestly don’t mind any loadout for the primary weapon I would use.
Now, who wants to disagree?

I don’t disagree with you there, buddy, but people have different opinions on what weapons and augments they like to have and SD can’t just give em’ all what they desire, that’s the beauty of RNG, the gamble. Besides, we’re talking about bling-bling here.
