Idea for the Healing Station

(Cyanide) #1

As of now we know its a little OP, especially when 5 healing stations are set down on a bomb area and its almost impossible to attack or regain a bomb site.

The idea -

  • Make it easier to destroy
  • Make it so it can only give out so much health before disappearing
  • so each healing station can only put out say 500 HP, after it reaches that limit it disappears

because people camping on it sometimes can be really hard when trying to take out 2 people on it and it waste a lot of ammo.

I see your point but I think we need to wait and see the other mercs that may come. I would expect some area of denial type weapons are in the works if they are keeping the healing station in its current form.

I have a recommandation to… The healing station should have a green or red light that you can actually ‘‘DING’’ like an headshot to kill it more quickly… Cause actually the healing station interact like a body and u cant even ‘‘DING’’ it … It could ne Nice to aim a red light or a green on the healing that does tha same dmg as an HEAD shot… To clear it more fast

healing station explodes and deals some damage when destroyed.
maybe people will start shooting it then xD

I really don’t think that making the health station giving a fixed amount of heals would be a miracle fix. It does not prevent the first problem : if Aura sees an enemy, she’ll just put down the health station and start going gun crazy and go derpy tanky (by an extent health regeneration way too quick).

I’d much more suggest to make the regeneration effect stop or slowing down if you recently took damages, like in TF2. It would make rambo Aura much less viable without making it utterly useless. Another solution would be to put a “wind up” time to the health station, so it wouldn’t start after like three seconds. This would make Aura much less offensive, but I am not fond of nerfs that hinders versatility too much. After that, I have no more ideas so far… I may find something else later.

EDIT : Also think about reversing those nerfs later. When Nader or Stoker will be out, I really think that those will laught at Aura’s healing station. Introducing counters are another great way to rebalance the game.

I like this, especially because it feels as if it feeds into Aura’s original design intention of a ‘Mobile Medic’.

Aura’s healing station should not be seen as a permanent bunker for her entire team to hold for an entire round. It should be a ‘set & forget’ healing solution.

The only problem I see with this is the potential for healing being squandered by too many people crowding the station.

A few solutions:
-Change the healing cap to a ‘per Merc’ limit. Say can heal a maximum of X (percentage of that Merc’s max HP) per Merc.
-Make it so that the station can only heal Y Mercs at a time, and it have it prioritize the lowest HP Mercs.

Regardless of the OP factor, Aura’s station is just a chore to fight against. Nothing in this game got more flak than the station, not the shotguns, not the arguably more OP Fragger’s nades (esp. at higher levels).

Multitudes of fixes are possible, and I’m sure they are aware of them, but as long as the station can remain mobile, and the HP regen rate won’t get decreased no fix will work. All those nades, AoE spam, etc. : it will make it more bearable on pub levels, but high skilled players will reclaim any station as soon as a nade is incoming, and plonk it down again afterwards.

I’ve played a pub today where a high-skilled team of 3 auras and 2 fragger’s rotflstomped 7 players, even though we had plenty of fraggers of our own. Destroying one station wouldn’t do nothing; cause another one is instantly popped, and trying to take down fraggers with anything else but nades would get you nowhere
