Idea for the FEL-IX

I think everyone would just drop the moa and pick up the fel-ix because headshot gibbing is far too valuable to give up.

I know I would, I don’t find the Fel-ix harder to use, its just slower.
Which is why I’ve mentioned multiple times that it would potentially need to be nerfed a bit to make it a riskier choice. Right now it’s just a poor man’s Moa but functions mostly the same. But slowing the RoF, forcing unscoping (if it doesn’t already do this…it’s been a while since I tried the FEL IX), reducing mag size to 3 or 4 etc. etc. would make people really consider what they are using.
Why are you trying to kill an already sub-par (compared to the Moa) sniper rifle? I strongly disagree with you being a FEL-IX user myself, if anything the FEL-IX need a slight buff.
@cannyEdition You didn’t quite read my previous posts did you?

I think the idea of making gibbing exclusive to the Fel ix is pretty interesting, especially if it say, had 5 shots instead of the MoA’s current, kept the slower rate of fire, and the slower reload. Maybe even add a slightly harsher speed buff so you move slower scoped in.

But get rid of the sway, and maybe buff the MoA’s clip size to 10 or something in between that and 5. It already has a fast rate of fire, good clip size, good reload speed, just feels like an overall faster rifle to use.

I think these differences in capabilities would make things way more interesting, so you’d have a real choice between a gun that’s overall easier to use and probably more consistent, vs one that is harder to use, but has a huge reward when you use it.

Very smart, I like it a lot

I definitely think it would make choosing your gun more interesting and would make all three viable in very particular ways while alleviating some of the issues with gibs in high end competitive matches.

Then why is there a single Vas, on every team, in most of the dirty cup matches that have happened in the past (i.e top tier, constructed teams, fighting each other in a tournament.) o-o He is perfectly viable for competitive play. However he won’t be if people take his insta-gib away.

Actually, Vassili isn’t always used in competitive play. A lot of teams don’t use him at all. Sure, he does sometimes see use, but it’s actually not that common.

But the idea of taking away the MOA’s insta-gib does not affect the FEL-IX, you realise. I’m almost always playing Vassili and I would love there to be a reason to use the FEL-IX, even if it means making Vassili slightly worse.
And even if that were the case, the MOA and FEL-IX could both have their firerates buffed a little to make up for the slight nerf to Vas’s current best rifle.
