Idea for change in existing missions as well as daily challenges

(HunterAssassin5) #1

currently, the way missions work is every 3 hours, they refresh any empty mission slots you have, and a random mission is assigned to you, it’s reward depending on its difficulity. Of course, everyone wants that sweet, sweet 1k cred mission, but its kinda dependant on RNG, as is the type of mission you’ll be given.

while i dont think they should change the missions where you have to bring along a certain merc with you(realized how much i liked some of them during these missions), or the RNG associated with the other missions, i think the rewards should be changed from a set amount - 500, 750 or 1000 - to be based on how well you did in the mission.

say, the mission requires 2500 support xp for the tier 1 reward of 500 creds, 5000 support xp for tier 2 of 750 creds and 10,000 support xp for tier 3 of 1k creds, and the mission will be refreshed away when you reached at least one of the tiers when the refresh timer ticks down, or maybe you can hold onto the mission and submit it when you want to, and the timer simply refreshes any empty slots like before.

now for the daily challenges. dirty bomb’s missions used to refresh daily. dont know how hard they were or how much were the rewards, but that was how they used to work before it was switched to refreshing every 3 hours. maybe it could be a good idea that, everyday, you were given an extra mission that refreshes every 24 hours whether or not you completed it, gives a nice little pile of creds, and is harder and different than any existing mission. things like “plant X amount of C4 charges on the primary objective that detonate”, “Kill X amount of enemies with X weapon/ability”, “Repair X amount of EVs(individual EVs over multiple games, not one EV over and over)” etc

one last thing: im not saying the current way missions work is bad and/or requires change, just that there is another way it could go, not should.

This is really good, I like it. Also I think that, when you cancel a mission for the first time in that 3-hour span, it would be nice if it was re-rolled into another random mission so we could have a slight amount of choice regarding the missions we like or dislike.

One other thing I’ve noticed is that, since missions reset every 3 hours based on London time starting from 12:00, we could instead just have an individual frozen 3 hour timer that starts ticking once we log in and “accept” the current batch of missions so that our time zones don’t mess up with our ability to complete the missions on time.

My biggest problem with missions at the moment is, that they bitch around everytime i want to go offline.

id love to see some weekly challenges as well where we’d have to win X amount of OBJ matches or stopwatch matches this week with the reward being an equipment case or credits.

I have to agree, i hate when a mission pops up you don’t want (say execution) and you have to wait the full cooldown for crossing it off!

(Xyfurion) #6

This is so true. I frankly don’t like to play execution, so when I get a mission for execution, my mouse clicks the X without a second thought. But then I have to wait the full 3 hours for another mission (which ends up being another fucking execution mission)

Also, about the thing for weekly challenges, I think It’s a great idea, but I think it should be geared more towards working together as a community. If the challenge is completed, everyone gets the reward (Elite case, arsenal crate, 20k credits, etc.). Something like: play 10,000 objective matches, plant 5,000 C4 charges, or kill 300,000 players as a community would be an awesome way at adding on to the game and bringing the community closer.

I actually quite like execution, i really do, but when i get the THIRD F*CKEN EXECUTION MISSION IN A ROW…i get a little burned out…

why the f*ck is it “play X rounds” anyway? i thought SD decided to switch to “get X amount of XP”

(MadMorpho) #8

You know what’d be nice would that you’d get an xp bonus for completing missions.

(Weekendwarrior) #9

Or maybe an extra % credit bonus for completing the missions quickly. The less games you take, the more the bonus.

And executions missions need a change to ‘get X amount of XP’. atm its just a pain

one thing i’d like to mention just in case, i didn’t go out of my way to find those little secrets, just stumbled upon them looking for lines to edit, so there might be more little tidbits hidden in the files if anyone wants to go treasure hunting

Very nice idea if I get what you mean xD. Just to clear it up tho you basically want support, combat and Game mode xp to start off at its lowest form? aka:

-Challenges start off as tier one.
-if you finish tier 1 before timer you go to tier 2, and onwards (3 max)
-As the timer resets you get the reward for whatever you’ve completed
-Have a lock function, so Obj. you want to get to tier 3 on or so close to finishing stays.
-And also a Hand in function

Is that correct? if so I’m down.

lol i cant quite understand what you wrote, i could if i thought about it longer, but ill simplify my own post instead

  • Missions have 3 tiers of completion
  • The mission cooldowns are unchanged
  • There are 2 suggested methods to complete the missions:
---- The mission is considered completed if you reached at least tier 1 once the mission refresh timer reaches 0
---- You can continue working on the mission past tier 1 and submit it for your reward for as long as you want, and the mission refresh timer remains unchanged

Daily(/weekly?) Challenges are seperate from missions, these refresh every day(week), regardless of whether or not you completed it, and have different goals than missions, and are usually harder. They drop you an as of yet undisclosed amount of credits, but it’ll probably be 1,000 and above

I’d really like SD to release a challenge for the whole community to achieve such as get X amount of XP in SW or OBJ, and if we reach the goal everyone gets a special loadout card or something thats really unique. i think that will bring the entire community together as if someone kills you, you wont blame them as the XP they get contribtes towards the special reward

Okay I think I get the Jist of it now xD but still any improvements that “ease” the Credit grind imo helps. Considering I have so much bronze and lower fodder to trade up but can commit enough time to do 3-5 sets of challenges a day ;-;

As for the weekly challenges seems nice, but I’d say maybe 2k and above, considering you can only do them once a week xD like 1k barely seems worth it x) and do you have any Idea for these weekly challenges? or are these still in the works? or To be decided xD?

(Sir Rexman) #15

Like kinda mini events um

Sure , I just don’t know if its possible, considering I don’t know how big DB team is and how much time they can dedicate to “special” loudouts. maybe if its from previous events I wouldn’t mind. but then some collectors might get annoyed.

That being said A case reward. Hmmm Maybe from the weekly challenges you could also receive a free combined Expert case? or would that be too much?

(HunterAssassin5) #16

probably yes, the arsenal crates are already kinda more room than SD are willing to let us have i think. remember that their whole business model centers around those fancy elite/expert cases you can buy as well as boosters, and you can get them just be leveling up. probably not a good idea to ask for more if you want to get the bare minimum

(Sir Rexman) #17

Hmm true that’s why i ponder about trading restrictions. If its just trading with a credit cost I can see cards depreciating in value alot. And getting the right balance between Trading up and trading with someone could be very difficult. Anyway hats off topic xD
