I agree with the OP. I would prefer everything be turned off and have a toggle button to turn it on when you want. The less on the screen the better.

i dont like the idea of the lines on the floor…

just keep it as simple as possible: remove the cod-like icons wich are visible through walls etc. and add the icons/obj markers to the compass/limbomap!

Utilizing the minimap would go a long way to removing clutter.

Properly prioritizing icons will go a long way to helping new players click with the game.
