I think it would be fair if Dockyard will be disabled in ranked season 2

Title says it.

I just think that since Dockyard is released 1 week before season 2 ends, it would be fair if it won’t be available in ranked until season 3 begins. Most people will probably either remove it from their queue list, or play only Dockyard because YOLO. And since it takes time to learn the map, it just seems fair that you should only be able to play it in Stopwatch and Objective modes so people have time to learn this map (that one week + time until S3 starts seems like enough time).

This should also be done with all new maps and mercs that come out later (pls Turtlerino I’ve been waiting for over a year) so ranked doesn’t get ruined

I agree about the map and I doubt they will add Dockyard to the ranked map-pool until season 2 ends, but who knows. I don’t think mercs should be disabled from ranked when they are released, though.

I kinda don’t want to play with 4 level 10 Turtles that have no idea how to play him in ranked. Even if you are level 100, when a new merc is released, it will take time until you master the merc so you can play them well. I can confirm that because I had experience in Overwatch when Ana and Sombra were released, always that one person insta-picking them and being useless, so all games were 5v5 for the first week or so of their release

What’s with people randomly disagreeing but never giving a counterargument as to why they disagree?
I really don’t see a reason new content should be immediately allowed into ranked. It’s for serious play, not your first match with that merc/map. Sure, after a week or two maybe the content could be allowed in ranked if the season was still going, but otherwise I don’t see why you’d want to play something unfamiliar in something that’s intended to be competitive.

All I ever get is Bridge tbh. It’s so annoying, because I actually like Chapel a decent amount and dislike Bridge. Still leave it in my map queue though because I know a bad map is better than no map at all.
Would be nice if we could prioritize maps, lol

Yea I wouldn’t mind removing the newest merc from ranked at release for a week or two like in Overwatch, but I don’t think it would be necesarry. In League of Legends players at least used to have access to the newest merc on ranked from the release day, and in that game knowing your champion is way more important than in a shooter. Just my opinion

Personally i prefer it to be in there, as i literally have to wait for at least 30 mins to find a game, regardless of q-ing solo, duo or full man lobby, when the game is found, it’s in the maximum skill range allowed, making the game not fun at all, at least the introduction of dockyard to ranked will hype up the ranked in asian region again
