I said i would give Brink a month

(GingThu) #1

And I’m happy i did, this game is really fun now that it seems most of the lag issues are sorted. Me and my 6 buddies have been able to play matches all week without much lag. There is always a little spike when someone leaves, joins, or host changing, but for the most part the games are great. And on top of this me friends and I have been having very good luck when it comes to finding full matches.

Now with 9 days left and free dlc coming this week i must say i am happy SD is working hard to keep this game active. I told the buddy who sold the game about the free dlc and let him play a few matches on my xbox to see the lag improvement and hes PISSED! Hes gotta go buy another copy, he is happy however because now he can join us all instead of playing COD. He even said COD feels stale after playing Brink. But we are a close knit group of gamers, being alone in COD is pretty boring compared to the team play of Brink.

Ok SD I have stayed with you this far and neither I nor my buddies have any intention of quitting on you, as long as you don’t quit on us. The next major hurdle that Brink NEEDS is…wait for it…PARTY/LOBBY SYSTEM FOR CONSOLES!

Thats it SD make it easier for me and my friends to get together and we’ll be all set.

Thanks for great game and keep the content coming, I hope to see Brink’s #s grow!

p.s. before anyone starts bashing me for enjoying brink please remember these are MY experiences with Brink and are not indicative of the communities experiences. Figured i’d have to put this in so i don’t get flamed to hard.

(DJ_Casper) #4

Now his friend will be PISSED more. He will sell the game again ^^

(GingThu) #5

O.O

When IS it coming out?

(brbrbr) #6

as said before, IMO, Brink was far from mature/stable/playable stage only weeks old.
&some features probably come in, later, yes :stuck_out_tongue:

I was unsure if id like the game but im loving it so far…

Congrats, I already traded mine in, I had a lot of fun while it lasted but I just got bored when I couldn’t play online at all. Good luck to those who’s sticking it out, for me it was the most innovative shooter since MAG last year, I stayed with MAG until I deemed it dead in the water, when there were only a little over a thousand people total online in all game modes.

I can’t wait till WKC2 that comes out in a couple months that I put my brink trade in towards.

When I read the title, i expected a troll.

I was pleasantly surprised.

I agree with TC 100%.

Again, online console gaming sucks major p****. Try Brink on PC and regret. :frowning:

yeah right

Problem with console games online is once a game gets old it kinda disappears, no one plays it, on the PC you will always, always find players whatever game you play and however old it is

(DarkangelUK) #14

I think when devs start transferring to dedicated servers on consoles we’ll see things improve somewhat. Giving the players the ability to rent and run their own servers as well would help improve the longevity of games, but yeah there’s few games on console that have dedicated followings years down the line.

(dommafia) #15

I think the dlc is coming next week according to some rumors.

(Artvarg) #16

Wow dude. I’m not questioning your experience, though it is the complete opposite to what I’m experiencing. I only have it for like a week, but it had to be really bad before. For me the game still looks really ugly, with low-res and texture popping all over the place and lag in multiplayer games, which are far from full (mostly 2 on 2, with the big team setting), in addition to that I had my first freeze today. Good overview of the bugs/glitches: http://www.splashdamage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27135
Worst is that I’m starting to enjoy the core game.
How come some people are not experiencing these bugs?

Thats a bummer man, really i feel for you, I have seen my fair share of frustration with Brink. The first 2 weeks i had the game i could not get into a game where it was not lagging. And ontop of that my friends couldn’t join games i was hosting, so this made for some very frustrating times. Like I said one of my friends got so angry he returned it, which he is now regretting. But i know its hard to hang onto it even with what may seem a dying player base and broken game, but I really think if you like the core gamplay then you hould hang onto it. At least until the free DLC comes out.

On suggestion i can make that helped me was invite everyone to your friends list that doesnt lag in your games and build up a strong friends list of players who you don’t lag with.

(Artvarg) #18

I will hold on to brink. Foremost reason ist that I would hardly get any money anymore. Price drop in Germany was one of a kind. You get the new game for 25€ (started at 60€). I so much hope that the dlc fixes things.

Thanks for the suggestion with the friends list. Problem is, I don’t have any friends that play brink. Actually its not even the lags that bother me most (they are a bugger but are not game breaking, mostly), it’s the low-res graphics and the texture popping that really annoy me. It feels like I play a PS2 game and it is really tiring to look at a constantly changing environment due to the textures loading slowly in front of your eyes.
