I need some serious help with setting up objectives in ET

I’v been mapping for some time and I am now mapping for ET and wanting to release a map, but I need a lot of help setting-up objectives.
Like how to build a construction that won’t shatter with one shot, and
how to make a explosive objective. It’s seems my problem is scripting
and mybe SDradiant’s bugs. I would much appriciate it if someone would post new, better tutorials on ET objectives.

SOME ONE NEEDS TO MAKE THIS STUFF EASY!

this map i’m working on should be a good battle ground, if i can get it out!

That’s not going to happen. It isn’t easy, the scripting system is complicated, that’s why it’s so powerful. The best way to learn is to read the documentation and look at how it’s done in goldrush. It took me a little while, but I was able to figure out constructibles with the example map and the documentation. Start out by trying to recreate one of the barriers from goldrush. By the time you figure that out, you’ll know a lot more about the scripting system.

I’ve not seen any specific ET scripting tutorials yet. Probably won’t be for some time either because most people are working on the construction system atm.

No its for RTCW and its for Explodable objectives not constructions, but if read along with the links you provided above it makes understanding the scripting a little easier if your a mapping newb (it did for me anyway).

thanks for the last speedy reply to my question i feel welcomed into this form, another question now is how do you compile your maps?
If so i would like to know with what strings and so on. I have problems with my SDradiant crashing on almost every compile option except (single)BSP -meta
this stinks, i need light.
Could i just use another q3map3 compiler program?
if you compile good well lit maps with SDradiant please tell me how.

Wow this thread is old!!
But i have the same prob as storm i can only do meta compile no others work :banghead: any clues/ideas (abuse ? )

The answer to your question is use a .batch file (i don’t know how to do this so i hope someone else will tell you). I had the same problem at first but i discovered that if i switch off all other programs running on my PC then i could also run ‘vis’, ‘vis fast’ and ‘light fast’. Using ‘meta’, a ‘vis’ and ‘light fast’ in stages is enough for testing most aspects of the map but someone more knowledgable might know better

thanks for the advice, but i think it maybe too many pk3 in my main or something like that, i did have a clean install and a playable install but they seem to have merged or something, god my pc is a mess ( me thinks it time for a reinstall )
