I have been looking forward to this game for a while looked amazing, but i see many saying it isn’t that good, i have played mnay FPS, COD, Crysis, BF, farcry, and was hoping this to be better or as good, The costomization attracted me to this game, I’m hoping it be good be awesome.

Whats the weapons like and what is exactly bad about it? If anything?

It’s not like CoD or BF or FarCry - like, at all. Oh wait, it does have guns.

Have you played and loved TF2, W:ET, ET:QW? Then you might still have some redemption.

A lot of the complaints that I see are coming from people that have limited gaming experience. They bought Brink, and expected it to be a clone of another game.

On the steam forums there was a guy complaining that Brink did not have a Killcam like what team fortress 2 has. If all he can complain about is comparing Brink to tf2, he probably has not played too many team based games.

Like with all new games, its going to take players a little while to get with the learning curve.

One of the big issues IF NOT the biggest is the lag some guys are getting on the 360. An online only game that lags is just plain awful.

As for folks not understanding the game, thats their problem…

Im happy to have a learning curve, i’m not fussed about killcam, skip it all the time lol i just want a new experiance instead of the same over and over. Crysis 2 kept me happy for a bit, but this looks more insane. I have never played team fortress.

Gaming experience shouldn’t put off someone from playing Brink. Wasn’t it SD’s priority to welcome in not-so-good FPS’ers and give them a lot of tutorials and options to fit into the game no matter your skill level?

Besides, if it’s not like any other familiar shooter and people expect it to be then tough luck. However if it’s suffering from awful lag, graphical/texture issues and all the other various complaints then they’ll have reason to diss it.

can’t be as bad as homefront though, i waited 2 hours to play one game, and even then i was seperated from my party. COD had a few issues which were kinda patched, if Brink is the same i’d expect a patch pretty soon. I got MK9 recently terrible lag yet it is being worked on, just seems to be the norm that anything to do woth being online has problems at the very beginning.

First time poster here, really disappointed, angry that I wasted $50 on this game.

Major Complaints:

  • The gun play is dissatisfying, completely unacceptable for an FPS.
  • The movement feels clunky, the animations are bad.
  • The iron sights are useless, hip fire is more accurate in most situations.
  • The fabled SMART system seems almost unnecessary. Most battles fought in maps take place in small corridors, and there is little cover to hide behind.
  • The spawn system is awful. You respawn in the same place after every death. It seemed like when I was playing I would get a few kills, die, run back, get a few more kills, and then die again. (Not to mention that you often fight the same people you killed, as the spawn distances are almost exactly the same).
  • The objective wheel also feels trivial. If you’re not doing the main objective, you feel like you’re wasting time. All secondary objectives seem to have little effect on the match.
  • The maps consist of giant choke points, all the attacking team can do is throw bodies against the objectives in hopes that they might be able to break through the defender’s lines (which is nearly impossible, seeing as how the defender spawn point seems to be on top of the objective).
