I have a few questions!

hello! I am new to mapping and I am really enjoying it. It’s a very fun activity. I was wondering

  1. How do I make my models clip? My tree and tank do not clip
  2. My tank does not have wheels! wtf!?
  3. How do I get that ring around my snow tank? It’s missing one! So my mg looks weird on it. :’(
  4. I was missing many textures, so I unzipped my pak0.pk3 file, reset sd radiant, and now I have a couple more directories for textures. But I still don’t have much more. Help?

enter key/value spawnflags/2 for your misc_model to make it solid. won’t work with misc_gamemodels afaik.
if you’re planning on having your tank move around, then you’ll need it to be a gamemodel and thus include
a reasonably sized clip brush with your script_mover. dont go with the spawnflags hack for your trees as it
will even make the leafs solid. and you dont want your leafs to stop bullets or even rockets. use clipweapon
brushes around your log instead.

tank body and it’s ‘wheels’ are two separate models, as the ‘wheels’ most certainly need to be animated.

well, you know on winter tank maps, you see the mg? it has this circular thing around it. Mine does not, I add misc_mg42 to it. And all I need is that, then it will look fine

and to 4 @ thorn. I have very little textures. I have alot of catagories. Assault, fueldump, cean, ect. But many of those do not work for me. If I go to the directory for those using a console, they are there. Bunches. How do I get them to work in radiant? I want my nodraw and water god dammit.

And how do I get the wheels? thx.

have a look at the folder you found the tank in. there should be much more
models - those include tank-mg, the mg-ring and wheel thingy. can’t tell you
much more about it, since i didn’t came around yet to work with tanks.

concerning the textures… are you sure you entered the correct paths in
your radiant? the pak0 should remain unzipped in your etmain folder and
your radiant should know where to find that etmain folder… worked for
me quite out-of-the-box… sorry i can’t help you much more about it :moo:
