I had a dream.........seriously

(.FROST.) #1

…I was downed. I had downed-fire and I pointed my Belgo torwards two shadowy figures in some distance. I started firing at them, but they didn’t fell. I fired endlessly torwards them but they just won’t fell. I started wondering, what the hell was wrong? I noticed that my clip was allready empty and I had no reload clip left. But the sound of a firing Belgo still continues. I realized that I probably haven’t shot a single round and someone had started firing his gun at exactly the same moment I pulled my trigger the first time.

Before I could think any further, one of the shadowy figures came across and finally finished me off beyond repair.

I didn’t woke up right after that, but I didn’t know what followed this dream. Can’t remember if I respawned. Probably not.

So, Dear psychologist; what should this dream tell me? That I played Brink allready way too much? That I still have a subconsciously issue with Brink’s popcorn guns wich consume too much ammo whilst causing not enough damage? I thought that I allready got used to it. Even thought I like it. Hmmmh??? Questions over questions.

Um…lolz.

Dr. neg0ne says:

My dear friend, this dream want to tell you, theres beauty and Joy everywhere…even with no Ammo. Life is not about K/D Ratio. Its the whispery flap of an butterfly on a beautiful blossom at the rim of a fresh runnel … or in other words:

GO AND GET A REAL LIFE YOU MORON !!!

Real life, you mean like getting up from the Desktop/PC chair? Yes???

PS: Probably my dream is the Brink version of this dream where one is running and running, without moving any further.

Dr. Neg0ne says:

Yessss my friend, real Life is what you see if you look through this big strange monitor in the wall, that has no controls or menues. IF … and i say IF you may get up your chair and smart-move through your home-map, you may find an exit that leads you to an huge level called “real-life”. But be careful. Some things are different there:

  • Your always out of AMMO ( this is what yout dream is pointing at !!!)
  • People don´t shoot at you (as far as you stay in germany and don´t move to the middle east)
  • You are NOT suppost to harm others !!!
  • You must find your own objectives. Theres NO Objectiveweel( thats the most difficult part)
  • Changing Bodytype takes way longer, maybe months.
  • You are supposed to change your chlothing more frequently.

Some things are the same though:

  • Teamplay is welcome.

Haha, triple loled over that. Very good:wink: But you forgot one thing. RL is supposed to have better graphics and no shortage of processing power. At least thats what they say.

PS: Lack of obj. wheel in RL is one major buck someone needs to fix. Nodding at you great developer. And this body type thingy could use some fixing too.
Wait, wait,… is the church finally some kind of whine forum in wich they pray for a patch since 2000 years? Like “Life 1.1”? At least they have one huge mother of a manual. But sadly they still don’t understand how to play the game.

(Dormamu) #8

hmmm… i think you have someone close to you who is trying to help you resolve some personal problems/issues but you do not see him as a friend or as a real help.
The “two shadowy figures in some distance” are you and your friend/someone close to you.
The dream is trying to tell you that facing this problem/issue alone… you are as good as a dead man.

i know what you mean. ive been working on a concept for a new FPS type game and movie concept for the last 6 months and i lay in bed at night thinking it through, i have some freaky dreams

(.FROST.) #10

My usual nightmares(9 out of 10) concerns my daughter. Whether something happend with her or to her. And I mostly get them when I go to bed way too late. Lets say 6 o’clock in the morning and had worked or played the whole night through.

But getting out of Ammo is a new one. Probably going to be my lead 1 out of 10 nightmare from now on. If that doesn’t say something about the weapons damage in Brink, then I don’t know. I mean I try to not think about it(weapons damage) or write in this forum about it and then I get haunted in my dreams from it. I’ve tried to convince myself, that I got used to the weapons damage, but my subconsciusness don’t believes me. Maybe because I played with the Kross yesterday. Still, a good weapon. just have to improve my aiming.

I dream about playing Brink all the time. Usually happens with any new game that I get. I also lucid dream so I can usually tell I’m dreaming at the time but it’s still fun to play “offline”.

The icons for buffing and revive syringes stick in the memory banks like tetris blocks if I play too long then try to sleep.

@Frost

“You are doing your best but in the end you are powerless”

Accept your mortality and that there are things in live you cant change.

I assume the brink setting derives from your amount of playtime shortly before going to sleep or (less likely, brink being the most dominant aspect in your life at this very time).

Uh, we have an art fan here. Go on.

(Ultima) #16

It’s a premonition! It’s trying to warn you of things to come! It’s telling you that these things will pass!

No, but seriously, I’ve never had a game dream that I know of, but that’s not saying much. See, I hardly ever remember my dreams unless they really scared me or something similar to that. However, when I do remember them, they stick with me and may come up many years later even. Just imagine that with this dream…I’ll leave you to your thoughts.

(RabidAnubis) #17

I went outside one time.

The graphics were great but the gameplay was terrible.

[QUOTE=RabidAnubis;361228]I went outside one time.

Really? I went outside and the graphics were horrible. Then, I was made to put on these ‘special’ glasses and it looked awesome. Apparently they were 3D glasses too because it’s almost like I’m in the game. This game has everything too, walking, driving, and going to work to earn in game money(amazing isn’t it). The minigames include mowing grass, taking out trash and other ‘exciting’ adventures. You have to pay for in game maps, there are no subtitles, and it’s available in different languages. Apparently, your character loses energy over time and has to eat food to restore it(also cost money). You can buy clothes to customize your character(money). You can change your gender(for a large fee) and even name, hairstyle, and pretty much everything about your character(all money). If your car gets ruined, you also have to pay money for that. You can do exercise mini games to build up more energy and strength for your character. Apparently shooting and stabbing people is frowned upon though, and you will be banned from the game, force to sit in a small room until they let you back in. Also, there are no restarts, once you get game over, that’s it. Some people believe that’s it, some that you go to special places due to your in game choices, and some believe that you can start a new game with an all new character. No one really knows though, only those who have actually gotten game over. Oh, another thing, your character loses health slowly over time, even if you play the game well. That’s the game of Life…oh wait that’s already copyrighted, go figure.

(.FROST.) #19

Hah, yeah:D Just call it the ultimate RPG. Oh, and you can produce little fellow players, wich is a lot of fun. Though some would say your own gameplay will suffer from it from time to time, since you have to teach those little noobs just everything. I for myself consider it a lot of fun. And they consider you a pro gamer only because you can draw a mouse.

Awesome game, but in the end everyone loses.

If you have a dream about the new Agents of Change auto-healer - it is one heck of a dream!
