i got to ask , why on earth pick blue?

(elegantRoyalty) #1

My team is blue, the enemy is red this is simple and easy to spot good simple classic design.

so i would love to know what smart ass decided it would be a good idea to make the highest tier rarity (attainable) also blue. so now im blue my teams blue and so are the enemy with cobalt loadouts. did everyone really think this was a good idea? ok a lot of time you can see the name display over head , but a lot of time when you meet when coming around a corner you cant.

This never occured to me as an issue. Enemy players have a very distinct red “hue” regardless of kit color though. Atleast for me, not sure if this can be altered by the graphics settings.

(Yes) #3

An enemy with a cobalt still has the red glow.

(elegantRoyalty) #4

ill agree there is a difference but is it distinctive enough to spot in the split second as you go hurtling past each other around a blind corner? is it distinct enough from your own team using the same hue on thier cobalt cards?

see this issue really came to mind when i was in a game with both a friendly and enemy sawbones who both had cobalt loadouts. there still pretty rare but that will change and this will get worse.

or maybe its just me

(capriRocket) #5

it has irritated me as well, its just not very smart, unless they want to give cobalt some advantage.
il see if i can change my team hue

(BanHammer) #6

I changed my config so my team is green and enemies are brighter red.

But previously, I never had an issue.

(PlayingUndead) #7

I always thought it was a kinda deliberate way to give you a very very slight edge, but that thought died when I started shooting dudes with Cobalt immediately.

(elegantRoyalty) #8

hmm not to me they dont is that an option somewhere? i have to see the name /health display to tell

(capriRocket) #9

banhammer: got the lines on your mind? i assume in shooterui.ini?

(Reddeadcap) #10

Enemies are baby blue and white rather than navy blur and black with cobalt skins, that along with a red hue, healthbar and name makes them standout, want to hear annoying? The iron or lead skin for fragger is exactly the same for both enemies and friendlies except for his goggles, making it a bit of a pain to tell a part from far away.

(watsyurdeal) #11

Idk, next thing you know we’ll have Ruby cards, Emerald cards, and fucking Titanium cards.

(VincentRJaeger) #12

Unobtainium Cards.

(Sinee) #13

Actually this has been a nuisance for me too from time to time. Anyone with an outfit that looks blue is hard to discern what team they’re on in the heat of the moment. It’s gotten me rekt a few times, but not frequently enough for me to care much. It can be a pain though, especially as more and more people are getting cobalts.

(Amerika) #14

I just pay attention to the red hue and don’t even notice what color they are. Some gold card using players stick out a bit and the Skyhammer founder’s card sticks out. Everything else doesn’t for me.

(B_Montiel) #15

At least it leaves the green glow open for fire team squads :). In my mind, this could be a great addition for people who are trying to play in pairs/trio. I feel it is sometimes hard to know where is a specific team mate.

(Yak) #16

Same here, all I look at is the orange glow.

(elegantRoyalty) #17

hmm how do i enable that?

ok ive looked all over the options and for the life of me i cant find how to make them glow, any idea where you found it?

It’s on by default.

ok then , i seem to have some how turned it off , any idea how i turn it back on?

(Ghosthree3) #20

Only way it’s off is you installed a custom graphics config that turned it off and I have no idea why it would do that. Perhaps you just don’t notice it.
