I can't put my finger on it...(thank you thread)

…since the DLC came out I’ve not had one unenjoyable game  I don’t know what it is that made it all gel but Brink feels better than ever before.

inb4 because you’re owning free weekend newbs. That’s not it

What I can say, average framerate feels much better, the rest, I don’t know…everyone seems to be enjoying themselves, even the new players; fingers crossed the free weekend will keep the player count up.

In conclusion: thanks to SD for all your hard work over the last few months. I don’t know what you did but it feels much better while being so discrete about it

SD should do a free weekend every month or so, making people lvl their character, then bummed because they can’t level, then happy again they can level again, bummed once more they can’t play and then just purchase it :stuck_out_tongue:

If possible, that’s a great idea. Give them enough to wet their appetite but make them eventually want the whole bloody rack of lamb.

I think a free weekend every month might reduce the impact a bit  but a near future Steam sale wouldn’t go amiss

The best thing about the free weekend is everyone gets to judge for themselves and not the shoddy reviews around launch. Everyone I know playing the free weekend is really enjoying themselves. Whether that = sales is another thing altogether. Here’s hoping

I’ve been hearing a lot of people in game this weekend saying that they were really glad they tried Brink and that – despite the early reviews – thought it was now Officially Awesome. Of course, I’ve also heard a lot of newb-whining vitriol, but I suppose both are to be expected.

Yeah I’ve heard this countless times “Man the reviews really put me off but wow the game is great” paraphrased of course…

Yeah dude I would have to agree. I’ve been very critical of the game even though I liked it and I have to admit the DLC and tweaks really improved the game. Just feels better. There are quite a bit of noobs playing right now but the actual gameplay feels better. Much better flow to the games. Not as chaotic and they feel under control…if that makes sense. I hope this continues and the community grows.

Only things left IMO are tightening up the spread a bit, VOIP on by default and party matchmaking for consoles and we are close to what I expected from the beginning.

If there aren’t enough people for matchmaking to work well, then party matchmaking wouldn’t be any better.

Any game with a small population like Brink must have a match browser /server list. Matchmaking doesn’t work when few people are playing.

Yeah I’m ok with a serverlist too. I do think however that adding party matchmaking would encourage more people to play because people who already play brink would be able to bring their friends over to the game earlier without having to explain crap like fireteams or join my game…etc.

I’m not happy at all.

Now with the influx of new players in the game, I can no longer, without-fail follow my friends into a game. 80% of the time I get the “server full” error.

Pisses me off!

(on a serious note, thanks SD!)

I would have to agree with the OP
