I can see my md3 but not the texture in radiant help

(tsakali) #1

I am using 3ds max to make a model.

So I created a poly model and applied a standard material to it, I extracted to md3 with popnfresh(sp?) but for some reason when I addit to radiant the texture is missing. I am thinking it has to do with the fact that under the material setting the map points to the full address of the texture which starts with C:/…

the model and textures are in the right subfolder conventions
how can I ensure that my path for the texture within 3dmax is corresponding to a path acceptable by radiant?

i cant see it to :stuck_out_tongue: u need use radiant 1.5.0

how is that going to fix my problem? heh I downloaded 1.5 just the same but my problem still remains…I need to find a way to edit the texture path within the md3… or even 3ds now, neither work

Made sure you exported it like it should be? (aka: name the top material name like you would call your shader or texture)
So “Material 1” would be changed to “models/mapobjects/myfolder/mymap/mytexture”

cool it works now BUT, the texture coordinates are not right, it just slaps the texture on the model without adjusting the repetitions like I have it set in 3d max so instead of tiling it in repetitions it just stretches the texture to fit the model, how can I preserve my map coordinates andtiling settings?

thanx for the help I am so close !!

Hmmm… There should be an “export UV coordinates” chekbox in the exporter, the box needs to be checked.
It could as well be that you need an extra UVW unwrap modifier, and an UV map created with it, but try the above thing first.

awsome thanxs for the help problem fixed

instead of setting up the coordinates from my UVW mapping like I should I was changing them from within the material editor

thank you again!

You’re welcome, but I should advise you to try searching first, these questions are surely asked before.
