I am confused on why this even happens?

I am not sure why this always happens to me this is like my 3’ed game in competitive matchmaking where I just get completely dominated because higher levels come in and destroy my low level team. Now I was sitting there thinking to my self maybe I just suck but then I was like wait!!! They have way better loadout cards then we do that alone gives them an advantage correct? and plus they have like 23 levels of experience/game time under their belts but still I sit here ,and wonder why I am being put against these higher levels?? I lost 3 match’s to this happening, so I was put in Silver 1. I understand it is prob trying to see if I could handle gold players, but seriously? That is just stackage right there correct?

This has nothing to do with loadout cards they don’t give an advantage past bronze (silver/gold/cobalt) are simply better looking variants, weapons and augments are the same (and you can buy bronze with ingame credits).

The main reason why teams are often imbalanced is that not enough people are playing competition mode (can’t blame them, the mode needs work and propably better backend servers). The matchmaking routine tries to match you with people of the same skill level but if it can’t find those quick enough it will start to match you against people out of your range either better or worse than you.

Alright thanks, I just seen some cards with like +15% melee damage and things like that, I have yet to see all cards, but if I have no augments on my cards and they have all augments on theirs I figured that was a advantage. Thanks for the reply though.

The augments are mostly minor, and several don’t even work. It is entirely reasonable to expect to do well with a default loadout, and as mentioned above anything past bronze (which is available for credits in the store) is purely a cosmetic difference.

Go to the Store, Loadouts and then pick a merc. Every single loadout combination possible in the game is listed there. I believe there is 9 cards per merc currently. Silver/Gold/Cobalt/Anything in the future will always just be cosmetic only. Everything can be gotten at Bronze and some Iron cards are perfectly fine as the last augment isn’t very good/worth it.

Well, looks like you need more experience and better cards to fight the big boys there.
@Amerika Would disagree on iron. As I see it now, every card with an augment has 1 good/offensive/defensive, 1 not really needed, 1 good augment. So Irons will have 1 very useful and 1 not useful.

Thanks to all of you for replying I really appreciate the feed back.

Your level doesn’t come into account with matchmaking if I am not mistaken.

Your competive level does though, I think after 10 wins you get a rank, and then it changes it based on how you play.
