We have been running Hydro Dam since before the script fix but since the script fix came out we have never had a problem. Only problem we have is having to explaining to the uninformed that the clock doesn’t matter in a dual objective map. Great map…sometimes it last for hours on our 64 ETPub server.
Hydro Dam v2 ET - Final
Thanks for the info.
I should have seen that in the other posts but somehow missed it.
The server freeze up seems to be caused by the next map in the rotation (Super GoldRush Final).
I’m getting your map back into rotation and have pulled SGR_final.
:moo:

Nice. Hope you’ll have some nice battles
shaderman, why not just rename your.shader file to some thing like “shadermanterrain”? It doesnt matter what the file name is, as long as it isnt to long. Ive had problems with long file names before. But yeah, you can use any name for .shader files.
Hope I didnt miss some thing above about the terrain being fixed?
First some background information: Teal’c gave me the .map file and the Easygen alphamap .pcx for this conversion. I had to extract the terrain shader from the RTCW pk3, changed the paths to ET textures and never thought about such a naming conflict at this time :eek3:

I don’t think so
One thing is, that I know of two people which had this problem so far and I think this is acceptable on balance. Another thing is, that (AFAIK) I can’t fix this problem with an additional small pk3 but had to recompile the whole map instead. I don’t like to force maybe hundrets of people to download a newer version if they don’t need it. Next point is that 50% of the servers where hydro is being played, are running the old beta1 (AFAIK even without any script fix) for some months now. All those beta1 players could have exactly the same problem but will maybe never find out about a “final version including terrain shader fix” because the admins of their favorite servers apparently don’t even know of the existence of any final.
I’m sorry that two guys had this trouble, but I’d say that it’s ok as a whole whereas releasing another version would be incommensurate.
Shaderman
I think renaming the .shader file has no effect on the map’s look and doesn’t need a recompile. The .bsp only contain the full shader names, not the shaders relatively to the shader files.
But anyway, your point is true, who would notice it…
