hunk alloc error

hoi

testing my last map and get hunc alloc error

think too many models and tga textures?

i give hunkmegs 512 and it runs perfect.

so the question: can i release a map, they need hunkmeg 512 or is this to hard?

try higher com_hunkmegs than defualt one. i’m sure it will work on 128 etc too…
use tga only on transparent textures.

No client is going to run hunkmega 512. Mine is set at 128, instance. IIRC, the default client is 56MB. The map will crash on clients with insufficient hunkmegs…

Mines set at 600, makes the game run faster. I’m only running xfire and the system applications while I play, so there is no problem.

mine is on 512 too

4 gigs of memory --> i can spare a half gig for et :smiley:

not everyone can, 128 is more than a reasonable amount

Absolutely, more than 128 MB is waste of RAM. I doubt higher values make the game faster. More the opposite is the case if system starts to swap because of unsufficient resources. Have never noticed the ET client is using more than 80MB total.

ok, i change the not nessesary tga into jpg.
