Human Enemy Indicator.

(motorhispania01) #1

Hi,

I’m new to BRINK and have been enjoying it so far.

I started playing online today. However it may be me but I cant tell the difference between the opposing teams Human Players over Bots. Shouldn’t there be an indicator showing which is a bot and which is a Human Player? I find fighting bots a bore and would at least like to know when I’m actually fragging a Human Player.

Feel free to add me on PSN: motorhispania01

I play brink on the PC and there the only way to know if your playng vs a bot or a human its by looking at the scoreboard latency if no latency its a bot.

But ye it sux not to know clearly if your playng with a bot or with other humans thats a big fail for me personally, sometimes happens when changes map some people leave and it gets filled with bots, and i leave the server too cuse i cba to play with bots so i say gg guys moving to another server, this one has to many bots and people say theres bots here :!!! lol

Agreed, it’s already bad enough that there are bots, having to be aware of which is which is annoying.

The bot names are pretty obvious. Though for absolute confirmation there is a symbol on the scoreboard for teammates that looks like this:

Another thing to note is that bots will not display pings on the scoreboard. Here’s a cropped screenshot of both myself and a bot (Pathan) so you can see the difference:

Well I cant keep going onto the scoreboard to identify if its a bot or not.

And while I’m Aiming, Shooting, Ducking, Jumping etc I cant be expected to take in the names of the Bots etc.

If it’s a Bot it should have [BOT] at the start of its name.

I’d much rather just have an optional game mode with no Bots.

…Just a thought, don’t mind me but… If you can’t tell the difference between bots and players then surely it doesn’t matter so much?

Nexo

I can obviously tell the difference in skill etc

But still… That’s not the point.

If I’m playing online… I want to fight REAL People…

I can usually tell pretty easily because the real people on XBL have names like “GangSTUR88”, “ILuvYerMomHard” and “JoeyDonuts” while all the Brink bots have simple/single names like “Jeeves”, “Pascal” and “Ham”.

Also, humans just play a bit differently than bots and are quicker to chuck nades.

(Patriotqube) #9

Pull down scoreboard an check pings

simple as that, you can do it as sooon as you joins. or play on servers that says they dont have bots on them

(Nail) #10

The bots are the ones playing correctly

“lardbutticus” or “barako’trauma” or this one is kinda bad but i saw this guy name “ibeatkneegrows” but i reported him.

(SinDonor) #12

“Knee grows” is the punchline to a mild racist joke. “Why are they so tall? Cause their knee grows!” Badum dum.

Here’s my favorite racist joke:

Q. What do you call a 60-year old black guy who flies jet planes?

A. You call him a “pilot”, you F@#%ING racist! :D:D:D:D:tongue::tongue:

(Exedore) #13

This is what I do. Then again, I’m used to the surnames…

(.FROST.) #14

My name in Brink is Frost and I’m not a bot even though it sounds/looks like a bot name. So you can never be sure.
But one thing is for sure, if you are wounded and you have bot-meds on your team, you know, they will come and heal you. No matter where you are stuck. But for securing objectives or taking them they aren’t nearly as good, as the good ol’ human player. Also as opponents, its not very satisfying to play against an all bot team or be the only human in your team, whilst your opponents are all human.

(Smoochy) #15

they should still be called something like bot_ham etc. its annoynig that you have to look at a scoreboard to see which team members will not go for objectives

If I remember correctly, in competition mode bots are not allowed.
You can play that way if bots annoy you so much.
Or you can watch at the scoreboard while you are respawning to see who is human and who isn’t.

(Overgear) #17

I don’t mind if I can’t tell or not. Sometimes I’ll notice a huge drop in skill and then check the scoreboard.
If it’s only one or two its fine but when your team drops and you’re left with 6 bots, I’ll be out

(wolfnemesis75) #18

You should constantly be checking the scoreboard, something I do the very first time I play. Most times, all the info you need will be there: who’s playing, what the score is, and who has a mic. all important stuff, especially in a team-based game.

(Hot-Wire) #19

You can tell its human when they are sniping.

(Exedore) #20

Another way to tell is the ‘Join’ messages on-screen at the start of a match, bots are never listed there when they’re first spawning in. If another human player joins mid-match, it’ll say that, along with saying which bot has has moved to Spectator.
