HUD editing tutorial?

(FireWorks) #1

Hey,

Im trying to fiddle with the “HUD.ini” myself and had this basic guide/tutorial, but I cant find it anymore. Cant remember if it was a steam guide or posted in this forum.

Mostly it explained just the basics that you aquire anyways, but I think I am missing some valuable points at the end. Anybody knows what I mean?

Pls, I am just looking for a documentation of the [ShooterGame.SGUIHUDPlayer] part. Dont need pointers to the n-th custom HUD or the not really well working Wezel generator.

Thanks a lot!

Another question:

Whats the command to reload the HUD or ShooterUI.ini to edit the file on the fly without restarting the game each time?

Thanks, but I fear this is useless. It just leads to the not really good working Wezel generator, that I already mentioned in my first post. Its close to worthless if you want to make a generic HUD that is supposed to work on different resolutions. A side that it cant load the default config in the first place and is not up to date on the current default hud.

If you look at the resulting HUD in the end you can see it being a total mess. The elements are just in a roughly right place and are not aligned the way they are supposed to be when using the Align and Attach command. You need to finetune and additionally readjusted them with OffsetPixel.

For experience, some elements like in my case the GameWaveTimer will even change position during a match on UI update events from the engine. How do I force these updates?

Hence I ask for documentation and ways to test a HUD more efficiently.
