HUD customization

(SteelMailbox) #1

ATM HUD customization is pretty limited, with us only able to change the X and Y of certain elements.
Looking at Valve games like TF2 the HUD customization in this game severely lacks. for comparison I am going to include the things that TF2 HUD customization touches. Fonts, colors, X and Y, every element visible is changeable, and custom elements (e.g: A line under health and ammo, drawings etc).
If you want to see how drastically you can change the HUD in TF2 than compare the default HUD to any of the HUDs in http://huds.tf/directory .
So basically the purpose of this post is to give us more ways to change the HUD. I don’t expect it to be as in depth as TF2 is but colors will be a good start then allow us to change fonts and get rid of certain stuff we don’t like in the HUD.

not even that, just get me a way to move the spawn timer and ammo amount and things like that to where i want, and i’ll be happy. I don’t even care about the font etc tbh

That you can change already…

Totally agreed. My dream is to be able to make healthbar at least wider, or, ideally, numerical only with BIG numbers, and bigger ammo numbers too.
Like in my TF2 custom hud.

I was originally inspired by the wezelkrozum generator, but seeing as its now down, I’ve really got finish this:

http://labs.tastybytes.net/HUDgenerator/

Right click on the screen to pull up screen options
Right click on an element to pull its positioning options

no export currently, gotta wrap up the last few elements, and then work on the epxorting :frowning: sorry. Just a sneak preview for now.

Awesome! I’m a mod on /r/dirtybombconfigs. I’d like to put this in our wiki after it’s ready to go! PM me for some questions.

Damn, this is cool! You should post an update when it’s finished!
Could use separate areas for the chat and points feed on the bottom.

Yes, that is what I meant when I said “you can move the X and Y of certain elements”

I manually edit the values if I want to change something. You get the hang of it pretty quickly.

@3N1GM4 great thanks for the link man i knew it was one online HUD configuration but it’s offline now so this is great

(bontsa) #15

@3N1GM4 Once you update this fancy thing of yours, the flood +1 Interwebs towards thyself shall be immense and glorious without a doubt and for a right reason!

(bontsa) #16

Instead of making a whole new thread about it, my humble apologies for the necromancing activities, but due us having new and nicely active CM, @RazielWarmonic , any chance of commenting if HUD customization is on the roadmap anytime soon?

PS. And I am extremely intrigued how @3N1GM4 is doing  So this could be considered a shameless bump instead of rising a thread from grave.

Why not lonking something that is already done and working?

Why yes I do like this and have used it quite a lot, I just like 3N1GM4’s visual look way better and hope he can get the ever annoying pixel offset tweaking away from HUD making ^^

Unfortunately I don’t have any information to share regarding this, sorry! :confounded:
But like @Jostabeere linked, that HUD customizer is GREAT!

Orighty then. Thanks for fast reply, awesomebeans! Yep, it is best we have around at the moment but everything can be done, implemented and created better
